How much rope does two 10 win seasons get you at Rice?

Because that showing against Stanford was down right pathetic.

You could have been like me and bet on them

I knew about 3 minutes in I had made a huge mistake

They were decent in 2013 when they won CUSA. shite since 2015.

The Stanford game doesn't matter. If he wins 6-7 in C-USA he stays. I think he can do it, too.

Stanford is probably going to win the Pac 12 this year so I wouldn't put too much stock into that.

Nothing wrong with getting blasted by Stanford but I watched the game and to me a lot of it was Rice self inflicted errors and mistakes. Just shitty all around execution. You think you'd see better from that from a school like Rice. Stanford played well but Rice played a huge role in letting them look great.

First offensive possession (after giving up a TD on defense in 59 seconds) - illegal formation, delay of game, rushing loss, false start, rushing loss.

Third and nineteen on Rice's one, fourth and seventeen punting short from your own end zone.

You can respect Rice even if they don't sniff Stanford, but how do you start your season like that, no matter who you're playing?

Because their city is currently underwater?

I swear some of y'all act like a world doesn't exist outside of sporting event.

Game was on Saturday...flooding started on Saturday. I don't know about you, but stuff at home has an effect on me even when I'm not home.

Predictable response is predictable. I didn't say sporting events aren't a part of life. I said that life exists outside of them. We don't have to ignore sports when life happens.

Suggesting a coach could or should lose his job because his team is unfocused in these circumstances is a conversation lacking perspective.

Not sure I've ever seen a coach with as much variance as Bailiff.

Starts at 3 - 9, peaks at 10 - 3, trough at 2 - 10, another peak at 10 - 4, then another trough at 3 - 9. That's a weird set of results that makes me think there's something the naked eye isn't seeing with that program.

But ESPN told me Sam Darnold was going to throw for 11,000 yards and win 5 Heisman Trophies this year.
