True, but they went from really good to really really bad. Unless there is a lack of support on the inside for their sports programs, they shouldn't be a auto win for teams. But like you, and some others have said, their problem is on the inside.

Mark this post. They are returning just about everyone next year. They will swim in the deep end next year.

Colorado's program is the equivalent to Arkansas, good but not great.
Firing Barrnett after he had taken them to 4 Big 12 championship games in his last 5 years was a colossal mistake.

And the facilities upgrades are happening right now...broke ground in may.

I think they're lower than Arkansas. I would put them around Minnesota.

National championship in the 90s. Big 12 championship and bcs bowl in the 2000s...Minnesota is nonsensical.

More like tennessee

And he also cheated enough for the NCAA to lower the boom on the Buffs.

True. They'd probably get rid of them if they could.

It wasn't the NCAA that lowered the boom it was CU

They were doing the same thing every school does in recruiting. He just got heat due to the "rape" of Nydia.

She had no business on that team and CU admin had their reason with her to get him out.

Exactly...nice how people just make up crap. "Barnett cheated"... When you don't know dick about something it's best to just keep quiet.

The Big 12 North back then was a complete dumpsterfire, and getting raped 70-3 in the title game in 2005 did him in.

It was Katie Hnida...

(who complained to SI that she was sexually harrassed and raped.)

Gary Barnett stated "[w]e have not done anything wrong, there isn't a shred of evidence to this date to back up any allegations that have been made, and there won't be." At the same time, he commented on her decision to leave the team by saying, "It was obvious Katie was not very good. She was awful. You know what guys do? They respect your ability. You can be 90 years old, but if you can go out and play, they'll respect you. Katie was not only a girl, she was terrible. OK? There's no other way to say it. She couldn't kick the ball through the uprights."

For these comments and other actions surrounding the program, Barnett was suspended.
