Pretty simple:

Hated ref Bill Vinovich (Saints-Rams missed PI) is apparently officiating the Super Bowl.

This thread will be fun and full of Saints fans conspiracy theories. A few highlights:

1. "Roger Goodell hates Sean Payton."

2. "The NFL wanted to make sure LA got a team in the Super Bowl."

he was not the official covering the play.. as the white hat his sole responsibility on that play-once the pass was thrown - was the QB - nothing else. He can't call what he didn't see - if he was looking downfield watching the receiver and DB - he would not have been doing his job and would not be in the super bowl.

He’s a model emplyee, of course he gets to ref the SB. When you do what they ask no questions asked you get rewarded.

Well good thing the Saints won't be there so you really don't need to worry about it.

He is one if the highest rated officials on the NFL on a yearly basis and is well respected. He rated highly this year.

The official who missed the call was demoted from his crew which is Tier I and is on a tier III crew this year.

Tier I gets playoff games. Tier III usually do not

No conspiracy. Just a good official being rewarded for doing a good job

Right, I mean he was the head of that ref crew.

He did what he was told so the NFL knows he can be trusted to do what they say.
