The 35 second shot clock is perfect.

Moving the 3 point line back would an absolute disaster.

The 3rd idea is just plain dumb. You if you have a great FT shooter it would virtually eliminate comebacks where a team is down with by 4 with the shot clock turned off. I am sure The NCAA is interested in seeing viewers turn the channel with 20 seconds left

It is generally accepted as the worst part of CBB right now.

The 35 second clock is at least 5 seconds too long. Teams just use that time to chew game clock and stall. No one is running 35 second sets.

I agree about college three point line, though. They aren't shooting a near high enough % to warrant another move. And it's a great equalizer.

But I repeat...

You're never going to get college coaches to give up the 2-3 zone.

You can camp out in the lane in the NBA on defense as long as you are within arms-length of an offensive player.

You can still run a 2-3 zone.

Especially not until Boheim retires

I guess you are interested in seeing 7-10 desperation heaves a game?

The only thing college basketball needs to change is the whole stacking timeouts thing.

Much more difficult to do in the NBA because you can't just camp a guy in front of the basket

You cannot go more than 3 seconds without actively guarding a player. And "actively guarding" means being within arm's length of a player. Get within arm's length and the "3 second clock" resets.

So no, you can't just camp out 100% of the time, but it can still be done effectively. The Mavericks run a 2-3 zone all the time.

If your offense sucks, then yes, sometimes you will see guys trying to beat the shot clock.

There is no reason for the clock to be 35 seconds, though. That's excessive.

It doesn't take that long to get a shot.

probably not a big change, but fine

no to the designated free throw shooter.

what college basketball needs to do is reduce the number of NCAA tourney bids to less than 40. The really low seeds are not winning championships and haven't done enough to deserve a shot. The regular season is hopelessly devalued at present.

Not like they're traditionally able to run. I agree on the defensive three seconds that's just the only change I could see every coach being against whereas the shot clock and other proposed changes seem logical.

They tried to lower the shot clock this year, but apparently a lot coaches flipped a shite.

I'm sure Bo Ryan was the one spearheading the charge

His teams is one of the very few that is organized enough offensively to operate with a shorter shot clock.

They hold the ball for at minimum 10 seconds most trips and even then they've still got an NBA shot clock plus a second to run the offense. Wisconsin is notorious for grinding games down to a crawl.

The # of fouls to foul out is fine. It is equally portportioned to the nba. Nba gets 6 in 48 min. Ncaa get 5 in 40 min.

And the advancement rule doesnt need to happen in college. Coaches just need to check their egos and not call timeout every chance they get at the end of the game and let the players play.

Change shot clock to 30 seconds. Defensive 3 seconds. I hate seeing guys who do nothing on defense but stand still under the rim.
