Yea, that was our problem out there. Members had guaranteed tee times and always played big groups when public wanted to play.

That's not a problem

When you are a semi-private course, you should always cater to members first.

Now they don't have to act like assholes to the public golfers that were helping to keep it open as long as possible, which is what typically happened.

Thanks for the nice comment for Sherwood. I tried hard for the money I had available.

Copper seemed to be headed in the right direction coming out of the winter too, but I haven't been there in a couple months.

Hope to see it back on track and I'll be back to play it occasionally

problem

I fail to see how having members commit to playing everyday is a problem. Seems like a good thing to have if you ask me. If you don't want that, then don't take membership and make the course completely public.

Its not a problem to have members. Need memberships. That pays the bills. The problem is that they all wanna play the same times and days public does and the two never mesh together well.

Agreed.
Lots of terrible options.
Consider yourself one of the lucky ones over there.

Copper mill was great 2 months ago. Algae has taken over on most of the greens rite now and they didn't have the rite equipment to take care of it and this weather isn't helping. They are getting a lot of new equipment this week so, it will come through it soon.

I took these pictures last May. Are the greens worse than these?

Well, if the public wants the priority tee times, they should pony up for a membership.

The bigger problem is usually something like members playing 18 holes than drinking a few beers and deciding to go play 18 more without having a tee time

It's tough for the marshals or clubhouse to tell them they can't, but the afternoon tee times may be booked but they end up trying to shoehorn them in somewhere, or worse, they just go off without asking.

A lot of great people were at Sherwood. Sure do miss everyone. I enjoyed my 12 years working out there with all those great people.

They were already healed a lot in may. They were as bad last winter as they are now.

I understand where you're coming from, but I have to take what you say with a grain of salt considering you have current ties to Copper.
