Does the coin have flip for it to be considered a toss?

If Someone, 20 years from now, asked me to say 1 sentence that described the 2015 NFL season, it would be damn near identical to your statement.

I like how the ref's excuse was, "It didn't flip" when he was the one who was supposed to flip it. Idiot

thats what I was wondering? Why couldn't you just leave as is? Just a fluke thing.

Exactly. Why does it matter that the coin didn't flip?

Because an unflipped coin is tantamount to just laying the coin down. Just laying the coin down is, obviously, a pretty bad idea.

Honestly i'm impressed. Not a chance in hell that ref could do that again even if he tried . As mentioned above the Cards won both tosses so no outrage on my part. Pack screwed themselves with shitty tackling in OT.

Did Green Bay call heads/tails before the toss or while the toss was mid-air?

If it was mid-air, then I don't see why it matters.

But the coin can flip when it hits the ground, and this didn't.

Watch it come out that the ref practiced this.
