Wichita State is in a position to do the exact same thing basketball wise.

I had a friend who held the single game zag scoring record until morrison. So i "heard of them." usf and st marys are in the area and the zags are in the conference, so i heard of them plenty. Best friends kid played for usf. Blah blah. Local to me.

They play mostly west coast teams, so that makes life easier to win.

All that "NBA talent" you speak of and only been to the Tournament seven times, which also includes nearly as many years of losing records, since Gonzaga's run began. Not all that impressive.

This thread rivals the Tigers 1-29 with runners in scoring position for the most missed swings of the weekend.

1.) Most Important --- Easier conference allowing them to consistently get into the tournament and gain national exposure (I believe they have made the tournament every season since '99).
2.) Consistently good coaching.
3.) Pulled in some real good players: Dan Dickau, Adam Moorison, Nigel Williams-Gross, Kelly Olynk, Blake Stepp, Sabonis, Casey Calvary, JP Batista, the Polack.
4.) Gonzaga has had more players stick with the program throughout their career (basically they weren't recruiting one and dones).
