How big a travesty is that Matt Ryan has a MVP award and Drew Brees doesn't?

It's a fricking big travesty I say if the greatest statistical NFL QB ever doesn't win a MVP award before he retires.

Ryan deserves it this year. Brees should have got it in the 08 season, but shite happens. Congrats to matty ice on a great season

In theory, sure.

But Matt Ryan's season is better than any season Brees ever had, by a comfortable margin too, so there's that.

But Brees was jobbed entirely of the 1 MVP that went to Peyton Manning, most everyone knows that.

Brees has the unfortunate timing of being great when two media darlings (manning and Brady) were also doing great things. It's also unfortunate that Drew never had a supporting defense to help him win more championships.

Well...looking at his career stats you'd think he'd have at least one. He's got a good shot at passing Peyton Manning and becoming the all-time career passing leader in NFL history. That kind of cheapens Manning's 5 MVPs awards to be honest. Brees will more than likely pass him in career yardage without a single MVP trophy to show for it.

Bull. Matt Ryan wouldn't even be asked to carry brees gear into the stadium. Brees>Ryan.

Ryan earned one and Brees didn't. How is that a travesty? Brees has had a better overall career, but MVP isn't a career achievement award. It's for the best player in a particular season. Ryan was that this year, and Brees never was.

What is?
There's no disputing that Matt Ryan had a better season than Brees ever had.

Not sure why you'd even want to try, you'd look silly doing so.

I mean...just look at Brees's 2011 season.

468-657 5,476 YDs 71.23% 46 TDs 14 INTs.

Matt Ryan just this season is better than Brees on any season he's ever had at:

Td%
Int%
Y/A
Passer Rating

But it's "bull" and I'm "smoking crack"

That's because Aaron Rodgers was on the defending SB champs and team with the best record in the league at 15-1 and put up some damn good stats playing outside in Green Bay (and sitting out their final regular season game).

343-552 5,643 YDs 68.3% 45 TDs 6 INTs.
