My old high school, Central in Tuscaloosa use to kick their arse before it became 3 high schools.

Hoover's pre-game banner said it best. The Buccaneers, 11-time football state champions and state semifinalists one year ago, returned to the Super 7 with a simple goal: "WE'RE BACK TO CLAIM OUR STATE." And they did on Wednesday night, their defense dominant and offense opportunistic during a 17-7 win against previously-unbeaten McGill-Toolen in the Class 7A state championship at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium. Best defense in 7A? No doubt.

The games alternate sites between Bryant Denny and Jordan Hare each year. The classifications also rotate when they will play, but 1A-7A are all played on the same field within a few days

I was hoping McGill Toolen could become the Prattville of '06-'11 and compete with Hoover.

Would love to see them play each other. Remember when Hoover played Tebow and Nease?

It messed with the schedule when they added the 7A division. It used to be the Super 6 and they had 3 games one day and 3 the next. I think it was either Thursday/Friday or Friday/Saturday. I went to one at Legion Field one year. Now they have to spread it over 3 days since they are all at the same field each year. Today's games are scheduled for 11, 3, and 7, and the same tomorrow. Today has 3A, 1A, and 5A, tomorrow is 4A, 2A, and 6A. I'm not sure why they don't play the largest division last unless it is field conditions.

My high school, Opelika, plays tomorrow in the 6A game. I didnt realize that the state went up to 7A now. I guess Hoover moved up, cause they beat us a few years ago in the playoffs. So we used to be on the same level.

I went twice to a day of Super 6 games. Was surprisingly a good time even though it was ~8 hours of high school football.

We didn't stay all day. It was a very cold Saturday morning, and my dad's old 1A or 2A high school was playing in it. Several friends of his had come to Birmingham from Choctaw County so we drove over. They played first, and we stuck around some for the next game. I didn't realize how cold it was when I left the house, so somewhere in my closet is an old long sleeve Super 6 T-shirt I bought so I could add a layer.
