Great coach with lots of accomplishments, wins & state championships. And a great AD as well for all the other sports at Lutcher.

I met him for the first time this year officiating their first round game. One of my favorite pre game conferences of all time.

Wonderful man

First and only time I met him he brought us a Red Velvet cake that his wife made to the newsroom. He is a class act

So what's the consensus, does Jenkins leave St James?

Tim is a great guy from everything I've heard. He is my moms first cousin and I have never heard a bad thing about him.

I wonder if the superintendant goes for that, and it's not the kind of place where outsiders just come in. People who coach in the River Parishes stay there for life. But that would leave assistants like Borne and Zeringue. Can they handle the job?

I'm actually in Bornes and Zeringues classes, they didn't even announce it at school today so must've been after.

Jenkins may come back, but Lutcher doesn't have much talent going into the next few years.

What??

They lose some serious players defensively, mainly Sully, but offensively they're loaded with returning skill.

I happened to say in the upcoming years. Jontre and Aldontre return next year, along with Gregory. But that Online isn't too great.

I played Online and D-line for a while but quit to get a job, I can say I would of started this year. I dont exactly know who may start but unless the Online beefs up, its gonna be a long year for them.

Yeah, I can see that especially with the guys they rotated in and out.

I'm not sure how that would fly politically because the St. James Parish school board is over both schools. And generally there is some tension there. To the point that generally what one side gets, the other side has to get too. So I'm not sure the school board would in effect hire a coach away from themselves.

Plus there just happened to be a nice article in yesterday's local paper, the News Examiner, extolling the virtues of the Lutcher D-coordinator, Zeringue. Gotta think that was there for a purpose.

I met him a couple of times away from the football field and he is a very nice man. On the field he was obviously a great high school football coach. I was fortunate enough to coach against his team twice in the playoffs. After the first meeting I heard him tell the white hat, "You cheating, c**k sucking, m****r f****r", as he sprinted across the field toward our sideline. We thought he was running to shake our hands, but the officials were leaving the field near us and he was chasing them down before they left the field. We still chuckle about that when his name comes up. And for the record, we did have a couple of questionable calls go our way that night! Congrats to him for a great career!

Wow... unexpected... they were our kryptonite right before Katrina. Tim went through 5 teams that were a combined 55-4 in 2003 to win his first title, including us in round 2 my senior year

Heard a lot of rumors from coaches and players today that Jenkins will probably be the new head coach.

Speculation with some of the players is that if Jenkins comes, that Lowell is going to come to.

Just rumors at the moment.
