I think a game will separate them either way. I think the winner has 10 or 11 with wc getting 9 or 10.

Posted in the o/u thread that as of opening day last year teams with 13+ wins repeated that 3/32 times with all 4 teams who did it in 11 falling short last year. Now 3/36. Combine that with the NFC south history and falcon fans looking for another runaway will likely be disappointed. It's just insanely hard to win huge numbers of games in consecutive years.

It is very hard to win a huge number of games in consecutive years, but the NFC South has the extreme benefit of playing the AFC East this year. Outside of New England, nobody in the AFC East is a threat.

I'm an idiot and listed the wrong stuff, but we get to face the NFC West, but Arizona and St. Louis are locks for W's.

The Falcons and Saints are so much better than Carolina and Tampa Bay that it's not even funny. They will struggle against teams like St. Louis and Arizona, but I fully believe that the Saints and Falcons should win those at least by 10.

ETA: Outside of 2009 (When Matt Ryan was injured for a game and a half), the Falcons have won 10+ games every season since 2008. New Orleans has 10+ wins in every season since 2008 except 2008 and last year. Between the other two NFCS teams, Tampa is the only one that had a season with 10+ wins and that lone season came in 2010.

They won that many last year as well.....Falcons still went over 11 wins..

The Falcons won a lot of close games and had an easier non-divisional schedule last year.

Again. Look at it objectively.

I think the Saints win 9 or 10 and possibly get a wild card. Falcons win 11 and win the NFC South.

Who do you think the Saints lose to, and who do you think the Falcons lose to?

We're playing the NFC west...not the east (or the north as you listed )

You said the NFCS plays the NFC East, which is incorrect, and went on to list teams from the NFCN. The NFCS plays the suddenly stout NFC West (SF, Seattle, St. Louis, Arizona). Buffalo, NYJ, Miami, St. Louis, and Arizona should provide at least 4 wins for both Atlanta and NOLA, though.

Don't judge me damnit

I was in a hurry to type that up on my lunch break. My brain is absolutely fried from work today. People taking leave and leaving you by yourself to accomplish all the work suck

ETA: I meant AFC East, not NFC East, but I am still a dumbass for listing the NFC North teams

9 wins won't win this division, unless the dude somehow thinks Buccaneers or Panthers win the division, which would be a dumb opinion.

I definitely don't think the Falcons win 13. I like to think most falcon fans would say the same. Schedule is just too rough.

No he thinks the falcons will be resting players at 9-5 yet the saints will also be 9-7 should be quite interesting.

Something along these lines:
Saints losses: New England, San Fran, Seattle, and possibly Chicago. Split their games w/ each of Atlanta, Carolina and Tampa Bay. They have a tough schedule, especially that stretch from Dallas to Seattle.

Falcons losses: one to New Orleans (probably the opener), New England, SF, Green Bay, and one of the Carolina games.

The schedules are obviously similar since they are in the same division, but I think the Saints schedule works out tougher b/c of the order. I also think the Falcons win one of the SF and Seattle games whereas I expect the Saints to lose them both.

Hope I'm wrong, I'd love to see the Saints return to 2009-2011 form.

Saints will NOT lose to San Fran or Seattle.. NE maybe Atlanta once?? YES.... Not Chicago... I am telling you people that having Payton on the sideline makes THIS a 12 win team.....

Sean Payton is a great coach, I just don't see him being worth five additional wins against a tough schedule.

The offense should stay at a high level, but the defense was historically awful. It should hopefully improve but I'm still expecting it to be below average.

Here is the difference IMO..... The offense LOST games for the Saints last year.. And Payton will get SOME of the 'D' issues fixed... YES IF this team stays healthy.... 12 wins WILL happen. The Saints have a HUGE chip on their shoulder to make last year look like a fluke.......

Herd is doing his job perfectly, he just trolled the entire Southeast by criticizing two NFL teams.

You "sunshine pumpers" are gonna be in for a very rude awakening. It's great to be optimistic at times, but Saints going 12-4 is just about the most unrealistic thing I've ever heard. U seriously think that ONE guy (Payton) standing on the sideline is gonna improve the worst defense in history?? Because as far as personnel & co-ordinator, the jury is still WAY out....

12 is very unrealistic for both ATL and Nola. Schedules are simply too difficult this season.
