Is he even top 3?

I'd take Lewis and Wormley over him for sure.

Maybe Stribling, Charlton, Hill. Not based on potential but on field play this year- you know, what the award is for

I don't think so. I think Gideon is even a better LB than him.

He's a terrific athlete that's an above average football player. That's it.

Malik Hooker had more tackles and 6 INT's (3 of which he housed), but Peppers somehow won Big Ten DPOY over him.

Two players from Oklahoma? What a joke...there is no defense played in the Big 12...

Dede Westbrook is the best player on the list, but he will also receive the fewest votes of the 5. No one paid attention to OU once they lost 2 games, but he has been terrific.

Jonathan Allen had 2 TDs this year and didn't play offense or return punts(obviously ).

Had more sacks. Tied in INTs maybe?

Had a few Heisman-like moments.

Not at all saying he should be considered for an invite. Just that there are plenty options out there who compare to Peppers.

Hell, Foster (won the Butkus) would be a better pick than Peppers.

2 losses that they followed up by beating TCU by 6 and Texas by 5...giving up 40 points to Texas.

Nobody paid attention because Oklahoma was an average football team this year.

Based on him being chosen to be the extremely rare defensive finalist when there have been literally 100s of more qualified players over the past couple decades.

Yeah, Lewis, Stribling, Taco, Wormley, and Ryan Glasgow are arguably all better defensive players.

Based on him not being the best player on his own team

Based on him not being the best player at LB or Safety where he played

Based on him having many defensive stats ~30th in the Big Ten alone

Based on him having completely unspectacular all purpose yards even though that was supposed to be his "thing"

Worst list of Heisman finalists ever. BY FAR. Should have at least had Donta Foreman be invited. I don't give a frick how bad Texas is, he was amazing this year.

Crazy he nor Mccaffrey ended up making it this season
