May be a bit overpaid and probably won't be worth the money in 4 years, but holy shite some of you are retarded.
He's still easily one of the best SGs in the NBA. 19/5/5 while shooting 54%. Most teams could only dream of production like that from their SG.

Hey genius, since your thread pokes fun at the heat given a "broken down 32-year old" a 4 year contract and your very own link says it's a 2 year deal, you might want to think about hitting the edit button. It's amazing how many other posters think it's a 4-year deal too without verifying it.

I don't doubt that he can put up those numbers, but he's pretty lazy on the defensive end, and his FG percentage will likely decrease now that Lebron is gone. It's not coincidental that his four highest shooting percentage seasons were with the king.

Actually Wade's game has evolved into more short range jumpers, floaters in the lane and posting up smaller defenders when the opportunity presents itself. I'm hoping he can become even more selective now that the offense will run through him.

A lot of his high percentage looks are due to defenders focusing on Lebron. Having the most dominant wing on your team frees up a lot of space since help defenders are more likely to focus on him or their man. Now Wade is the primary focus on the perimeter. The Heat need him to score more this year than last, so I doubt he can be more selective. His game will suffer without Lebron at this point in his career.
Now I do expect Bosh to put up better numbers than he has the last couple of seasons

You do realize Wade opted out of a deal that would have paid him $40M over the next 2 years right? He did this at the Heat's request so that they may try and sign LeBron and add other pieces.
Do you really think the Heat should just say "frick you Dwyane. Shouldn't have opted out. Your loss."
That would have been unethical and just bad for business. No employee would want to work for an employer who fricks them over like that.
this, except it was 41.8 million guaranteed for two years that they had him opt out of when they were trying to keep Lebron in Miami.
If you were signing a free agent you'd want no part of Wade at 15 million a year for four years... when he was supposed to make 21 million a year for two years and you had a gentleman's agreement to do right by him it makes sense.

In the games Bosh played in when LeBron sat, he averaged 23 points.
His numbers will increase don't worry. Instead of 12 shots per game he will probably put up 17

Too bad his deal is only for 2 years at around $34 mil....get the facts right people
Still overpaid tho, along with Bosh

It's actually 2 years for 31.1. Dude lost almost 11 mil by opting out thinking he'd get a longer contract.

If there was no salary cap he would deserve more than that for his actually value to the franchise.

That is NOT what happened at all.

Not what happened. If Wade wanted more, he would have got more.

What I think will happen:
Wade opts out after 1 year to become a free agent again next year. Heat give him a year 1 max deal. That would effectively make his contract a 2 year 36m but still allow them to go into 2016 with him being a free agent. Then they sign him to around to say a 2/24m deal, which would come out to the 4/60m deal that was rumored.
This would circumvent the CBA's set max raises and decreases for multi year deals. So they couldn't do a 15/21/12/12 deal, but, if he keeps becoming a free agent, it gives team ability to pay him his money, while also allowing them room for max deal in 2016.

Mickey Arison has $6.7 billion. He can afford to extend 197 contracts like the one he gave Dwayne Wade.
