You are right, and it sounds like the refs ego was out if control also. When a person gets in a officers face and dares him to arrest him is only asking for trouble. Both parties should have acted with cooler heads, but they didn't
I have also been a HS ref and understand how tough that job is.

I've said it many times. Both were assholes. It was a pissing contest. Fault should be shared

In 30+ years of officiating I've never heard of anything like what happened. That it got that far (regardless of who says what) is appalling.
I'm still surprised the game continued after the arrests. If my crew's WH was arrested and removed from the field during the game, to a man, we would walk off the field until the situation was resolved.

I am surprised that someone from St Paul's or one of the Coaches didn't step in on this. No way this happens at Parkview, John Curtis, etc etc where you have an older Coach in control of the program. If the refs had walked LHSAA would have probably given both schools a loss.
If the cop is hired as security at an event, he is a security officer with a gun just like at the mall. He is being paid by St Paul's just like a campus cop, and is not on duty. Hence, he is not ever "in control" of the event, the Game Administrator and Head Official are and he can be ask to leave or thrown out just like any other employee.

Any word on the 230 meeting?

Nobody has posting anything yet. Could it be still ongoing?

It all depends on state law and who was paying the officer.

When you assign fault, courts and arbitrators will look at motive and bias. The fact that the cop had a kid playing for Mandeville and he was protecting their fans at the detriment to the refs, really makes this case a slam dunk in the favor the refs. All signs point to the cops being the more culpable party here.

I have a tough time finding fault with any of the schools mentioned. I have worked at all three and had a positive experience at all three. Also, it's not the kid's fault his dad is apparently a dick.

Actually in a court of law nothing you mentioned matters.

Only way this is getting to court is if the refs sue.

Baker PBS game two years ago....refs gave RFP
When a baker coach could have been arrested for inciting a riot

There is no way someone from St. Paul's could have gotten involved with how fast this went down. It happened within a minute or 2. By the time you could tell what was going on, it was over. Can't physically fly across the field.

I am assuming the association has some kind of arbitration process or dispute process to determine culpability.

This. And lecompte was talking to his offense in a timeout so he had no idea what was going on either

LHSAA can strut a and make noise, but this is up to the prosecutor's office to proceed or not.
