You definitely have him beat at having soup kitchen orgies with old homeless dudes in abandoned cars.

Except reading.

But seriously, one of the most underrated athletes ever. Wish he would've had a bigger pro career.

Why do people use HBD as an acronym for Happy Birthday? Shouldn't it just be HB?

Herschel was much faster. He is the best college football running back of my lifetime. And I'm old.

Barry Sanders
Tony Dorsett
Herschel
AD
Bo

For pure college reasons...would be close to a Top 5 in that order.

AD was just so productive.

Well that what I was ranking, as a college player.

Hell...if we are going pure college player

You'd have OJ and Barry. I should have said OJ...he was way better than Bo in college.

No way you would have walker over them.

And Dorsett was better than Walker in college...let alone Barry or OJ.

You seriously wouldn't take Barry Sanders and is EARTH SHATTERING SUCCESS in college?

And Barry was playing against better teams in 1988 than Walker in 1980's SEC which had fallen on hard times outside of Alabama. SEC was ranked 4th conference back then. So it's not like Herschel was steamrolling today's Alabama.

So how did LSU play in a Sugar and an Orange Bowl if the SEC sucked so bad?

As a pro he scored 145 touchdowns and amassed over 25,000 all-purpose yards.
He should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

LSU in the 80s was a roller coaster, Charlie Mac retired at the end of the '79 season. By '88 LSU had 4 different head coaches and were about to hire a 5th (Hallman in '91).

In that span LSU would go to the Sugar Bowl (twice), and the Orange Bowl faced Nebraska all three times. They would also finish 5th in the nation after a Gator Bowl win, & the following year would win the the SEC.
However in '80, '81, '83, and '89 they wouldn't go to a bowl game.
