Does LeBron convince management to keep Blatt, or is Blatt and dead man walking?
ETA: I think he coached a good series, but his lack of NBA experience may hurt his case with a guy like LeBron.

I thought he coached a good series, considering what he had to work with. He gave GSW as many different looks as possible, GSW had to earn this championship.

No

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they reached an agreement to part ways.

Does anyone actually believe the Cavs choked and should have won the Finals? Or rather, that they were the best team in the League? In the East (without Love and Irving)?

No. Coached his tail off in these Finals. Only thing I wish he did was try Marion, and let LeBron play the point some when he's on the floor.

It's easy to criticize a guy who has the NBA AARP sitting on the bench.

i say yes. and not because i thought he did a bad job in the finals. i think it's because there seems to be a sincere disconnect between him and the rest of the team. lebron throughout the playoffs and season has made a point to distance himself from blatt's coaching. he isn't outright disrespectful, but he isn't all there.

multiple reporters have talking about the gap between blatt and the players.

i think blatt is a good coach. but this is a players league. he doesn't have control of the locker room, this might've been his first and last rodeo with the cavs.

bron opts out. love opts out. they talk about it with management. and they decide who can best help get them a title next year.

weird idea who i KNOW has connections to bron: calipari.

Blatt's a good coach. This just doesn't feel like a good fit for Blatt or the team.

Blatt can't coach this team if he can't earn the #1 guy's respect. That's no fault of his though. He certainly has the type of resume that should command respect. Lebron just likes who he likes.

I would think given their horrible depth and Marion not playing says more about the player Marion is now. Unless you believe he has some vendetta against him and just didn't want to play him.

Yep. This is what it comes down to.

It's kind of a weird dynamic. You got LeBron on the team, who is the best player in the NBA and has done it all for the past 10 years, and other veterans on the team who have won titles, and then you have this rookie NBA coach coming in and is going to run the show who never played or coached in the NBA.

It's hard to make it work.

Blatt would be good coaching a team with a lot of young players.

Spoelstra worked because he was with the Heat for a long time and worked his way up. The players already knew him well. Blatt has spent the last 30 years in Europe as a player and a coach. He had no NBA experience. So it's hard for LeBron to respect him as an NBA coach when LeBron has so much more NBA experience than he does. It's hard for Blatt to get the team to take notes from him when LeBron probably feels it's Blatt that should be taking notes from him.

I think a veteran NBA coach could command the attention of the team better than Blatt could.

Blatt needs to coach somewhere like Minnesota. It would be better for all parties involved.

Lebron was playing point no matter who else was on the floor, I would have been curious to have seen Marion as well, but I doubt he would have made any difference. The fact that James jones got significant minutes, and mike miller saw the floor at all is really telling about Shawn Marion.

Spoelstra more importantly had Riley's backing.
