I think it was more of WcW dropping the ball and bringing Vince Russo in..

WcW almost put wwf out of business at that time as well

King of New Orleans is a book about JYD. It's a good read.

Loved going to the Monroe Civic Center. I got to meet several wrasslers, Bobby Eaton, Micheal Hayes, Lex Lugar, Catcus Jack(Nick Foley), Arn Anderson.

What about Hacksaw Jim Dugan, Skandar Akbar, Kimala the Ugandan Savage & his handler Friday, The Rock-n-Roll Express, Paul Orndoff, Brusier Brody, Grizzly Smith, Baron von Rathshi aka the German Claw, Tully Blancard, The Midnight Express, Killer Karl Kox, Terry Taylor, and the announcers, Gordan Sully and Reeser Smith.

Dude you are mixing it all up. The announcers for Mid South were Reeser Bowden and Boyd Pierce. I remember Bruiser Brody only being in World Class. Lex Luger was right after the territory days were starting to die.

WCW were such idiots for not pushing Steve the way they should have. I guess the WWF almost missed the boat with that "ringmaster" crap they put on him when he first got there.

I think 2 things made Stone Cold besides the KOTR speech on Jake Roberts

1. His matches vs Bret Hart @ Survivor Series and WM 13

2. His feud with The Rock for the IC title. I loved when he threw Rocky's belt over that bridge

I always hated what the WWF did to the Sheephearders. A badass brawling tag team from New Zealand, and turned them into a comedy act as the bushwhackers. The same to a lesser extent to Jim Duggan.

Although I did like Dibiase as the million dollar man.

Their greatest sin imo was putting Dusty Rhodes in polka dots and trying to erase his legacy.

Austin was only on top for a few years. That's nothing compared to Flair or Hogan (or even Cena).

Actually, Austin admits on his latest WWE dvd that he would've done the same thing in Bischoff's shoes at the time.

Except that was Dusty's idea.

As much of an a-hole he may be Ric Flair is the GOAT.

He wrestled ALL the time everywhere back when travel wasn't nearly as comfortable. He put people over ( Kerry Von Erich) Steamboat, Sting...

Hogan was a selfish dick and only wrestled on PPV for a long time. Hogan pushed the sport to what it is and must be given a lot of credit for that but Flair was in the arenas night in and night out from the late 70's on.

Sheepherders vs Fantastics in a barbed wire cage. I saw it at the Hirsch Coliseum in shreveport. There was so much blood, it was crazy!
