I think this is a nicely balanced piece from Sally Jenkins.

Honestly LeBron gave that lady way too much clout. Most people would never know who she was if he didn’t respond. She got what she wanted out of it.

Lebron should laugh at an invitation to Fox News. I damn sure would.

Make her come out of her corporate office in NY and ride around with him and Cari on Uninterrupted.

I had honestly never heard of her before. I don’t find her or LeBron to be particularly bright or important. To me it’s just a story that was blown way up because it’s a slow news week.

I don’t think her comment was racist but it was belittling. His rebuttal was mostly “piss off racist lady” in a very arrogant “I am the centerpiece of fixing race issues in our country” manner.

Their bickering doesn’t really change or solve anything. It’s just noise.

Sure, but a relatively well known national media person (2 million twitter followers) told him to "shut up and dribble" because she didn't agree with his politics. I'm sure if Jake Tapper told some conservative baseball player to shut up and play ball, the right would be upset.

Unfortunately both sides are super hypocritical right now, and we can't just value the great things that people do. Do I agree with a lot of Lebron's politics? No. But I think he's an incredible human being and what he's done for kids in Akron, Ohio (along with many other things) is just absolutely phenomenal.

I voted for Trump and am a Conservative. Yet, I find that piece towards both Lebron and Durant to be absurd. She is a joke and embarrassed herself.

Lebron and any athlete have a right to voice any views they wish in this nation. Just as the Olympians do.

And, with that I also have a right to ignore them and not watch them. I also can voice my opinion against their own.

Telling anyone to shut up and do anything is very childish and ridiculous. Freak her.

I agree. However isn’t the president doing this multiple times a day on twitter? How can I be mad at her when the leader of the free world does it routinely?

She specifically said for them to shut up and dribble.

If you can pinpoint one twitter post where Trump is telling someone to shut up because he doest not like their views I will listen.

If it is him telling someone to shut up because he is being attacked and feels he is being wronged it is a different story.

The context here is Laura is making a remark to these players only because she does not like their views. Our president gets whacked eveey day in the media and attacked. Yea, Id tell them to shut their lying yapper too. Probably worse.

The funniest part is that the right loves to pride themselves on their championing of the 1st amendment and talk about how the free flow of ideas is so great for this country, yet apparently any famous person that happens to be a liberal needs to just shut up and do their job.

Ted Nugent on the other hand is free to come on Fox News and discuss politics whenever he wants.

That isnt telling them to shut up and dribble.

Kneeling for the anthem is a disgrace. For me, for my grandfather who was half black/white who stormed Normandy Beach on the second wave (after the initial wave) where countless of his brethren died only to have to march over their bones in his tank--he was a tank commander--Id say every American had a right to voice their views on that matter too.

Feel free to speak your mind but dont disrespect that anthem and the flag of those who saw more than any of these men could ever ponder.

My granddad held o ton his story up until he died. Once he shared with us what happened in France I understood what freedom meant as a young man.

My step brother told me his grand father was in the pacific and never spoke about what he saw until he came of age around 16 or so. The shite these men, real men, endured deserves more respect.

Im all about free speech but to insult that flag burns deep brother. I applaud him for telling the owners to fire them.

That isnt telling someone to shut up and play ball. That is standing up for that flag and the blood that was shed. If they think it is bad now? Hell, if Germany had won they would likely not even be alive. That is no exageration whatsoever. I understand our schools dont teach shite anymore about history ao that may be a little too much for some on here.

Shawn White was dragging his flag on the ground the other night. Based solely on the statutes in place, there should be far more outrage about that than for the National Anthem.

My biggest problem with Ingraham is she just picks and chooses what person gets to have opinions that matter, and those are the types of people that agree with her. I’d be way more fine with what she said if she didn’t talk up Curt Schilling or the Duck Dynasty family. But they have similar view points so it’s fine. Bad look.

I thought it was kinda funny. It was kinda like Lavar Ball with the stay in your lane. There is no way a man on his way to being a billionaire was really offended by this. It just offered a chance to inspire some faux-outrage and attention.

And each person is different. Nate Boyer, former green beret, was the one who got Kaepernick to kneel because he thought that was better than sitting. Don’t get me wrong, I stand and sing in the stadium, and would never kneel. I also think there are some players doing it for the wrong reasons. But some of them absolutely live out what they’re protesting and I don’t have nearly as big of a problem with that.

It depends on whether it was accidental or not. Nobody would have given Gary Kubiak a problem for taking a knee during the anthem if he was having a heart attack. Intention is what people are really judging. People usually take off their hat for the anthem. If someone forgets they aren’t beat up but if an intentional message being sent, then people get offended.

I honestly just don’t care what people want to do. As people spend all of their time worrying about others, the people that focus on their own hard work and success are getting ahead. It’s better just to let people live their lives and spend the time it would take to judge them on bettering your own position in life.

She was absolutely right, Lebron is a shill he makes uniformed and dishonest political statements all of the time. He uses F bombs and insults because he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. She was 100% accurate saying that people like him can dish it out but can’t take it. He and the libtards rushing to label her as racist are a perfect example of what she’s talking about.
