quote:JaMarcus worked out hard for one summer and was able to get tryouts with multiple teams. If he busted his arse year round like Tebow does he would be starting in the Nfl IMHO
Am I the only one who finds it crazy that Tebow has found a way back into the NFL. But JaMarcus Russell can't even make a roster?

is tebow getting paid less by taking a job in the nfl vs his media gig?

Fair enough. But I do remember hearing that teams wanted Tebow to tryout at TE or that he should head to the CFL. He declined both offers.
It's just interesting that a dude who has been out of league for two years is back in the league.

you don't even know why he signed him.

If Jamarcus cared enough about the NFL to stay in shape, I think he would have landed on a team already. Probably not as a starter but definitely as a backup.

All of the positions he could play (QB, TE and RB) have better players ahead of him.

quote:Well it depends if he actually makes the team. If he makes the team I would imagine his salary would be around 500k(complete guess) So I would imagine that is a decent amount more than he makes for ESPN

It'll be a vet minimum deal
It's not like he had leverage

Well you're not being reasonable here. Tebow has actually had a good game or two, his passer rating is 25 points higher than Lindley's. 25 points in passer rating is also the difference between Peyton Manning and Bubby Brister.

If he were what everyone thinks he is, whenever they offered him that contract he should've just said

Would it honestly surprise anyone if Tebow was a serial killer who taught Hernandez tricks of the trade?

I don't understand the outrage. He's competing for a back-up job. Kelly's not signing him and handing him the starting job.
Let's face it, Tebow is a good locker room guy (if the media would leave his teammates alone) and could definitely help a team in goal line and short yardage situations. We're talking about Sanchez and Bradford, not Brady or Rodgers, that they'd be taking off the field for a few plays here and there.
A possibly-improved Tebow running Kelly's read option plays COULD certainly be a better situation than most teams in the NFL have if they were forced to go to a back-up.
Tebow never deserved the "hype" he got as a starter, but a guy with his work ethic and athletic skill set definitely deserves a chance to prove himself as a back-up in a league with guys like Tyrod Taylor, Jimmy Clausen, Blaine Gabbert, and Ryan Lindley.
