I don't think Jacobs sees the final bell. GGG good boys him around the 8th or 9th round. GGG has to be careful because Jacobs has power and size so he won't go in there all crazy. Chocolatito fights on this card too. He gets a UD. The Thai fighter is tough.

i rewatched the jacobs/peter quillin fight recently, and he straight bullied and smashed PQ into oblivion in the first round. sheer power by jacobs.

the GGG we saw vs. brook was vulnerable and wide open, not sure if he wants to get hit like that vs. Jacobs. GGG just absorbed that shite from Brook, but Jacobs power is true middleweight power.

i got GGG in 10.

GGG pops him up with the jab early then starts pounding the body finishes Jacobs in the 5th or 6th with the liver shot

You will see the GGG that fought Lemieux. He will throw a lot of jabs and come in cautiously because Lemieux had power like Jacobs does. Once he gets to work behind the jab along with body shots he will end him later on in the fight.

My tactics for Jacobs would be to get as fit as is humanly possible and try and jump on Golovkin from the off, beat him to every punch and throw lots of punches.

I don't think its very common you would advise a fighter to go after another early, but in this case I think I would. Go for broke as he did with Quillin as GGG tends to start slow.

No good waiting for the hammer to fall. GGG seems to slip into gear after the first round or two and by then he has learned how to close all the fire exits before you can start implementing any kind of evasive action.

Jacobs is naturally just a lot bigger guy. He will be around 175 for the fight. I don't like the style match up for him because he won't be very mobile and he won't be able to control the distance. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if he catches Golovkin with some shots early and may even hurt hm.

yeah he's the one guy that, if connected, could put a dent on that cement chin of G's.

The problem with Jacobs is he's been pretty inactive over the last two years. Sure, he KO'd Quillin in impressive fashion but he also got floored by Sergio Mora.

I like Jacobs but I just don't see him being able to take Golovkin's jab/power punches.

I'm VERY interested to see how Chocolatito rebounds after that tough win against Cuadras. For a little fighter, he's getting up there in age and after that rough fight last time out, he could be on upset alert. We'll see.

The more I think about it, I agree it's not going to be that much of a contest. Kind of fight where you'll know in the first couple of minutes where it's going to be interesting I figure. Jacobs should land big, but does he really have that much power, can he hurt GGG?

I cant see anything other than a systematic beatdown by Golovkin. He won't walk at him face first like he did with Brook and others. He'll give Jacobs the respect he gave Lemieux and dish out a one-sided hammering.

"I like old school. If you want fight, just call me. Call my manager. That's it. This is very easy business." - GGG

I read an article quoting Sanchez in that they fully expect Jacobs to come out slinging.

They currently have a combined 35 consecutive knockout streak.

I'm certainly not buying it. I don't believe in paying for fights that should be on cable/premium tv. It's a good card, though.

Thanks.

GGG by himself and I probably wouldn't buy but with Gonzales also on the card I'll prolly drop the $50.

Cuadras is on the card as well and if he and Gonzalez both win, a rematch is supposed to take place.
