The only moderately interesting thing about the Eastern conference playoff picture (sans the bucks) ended five minutes into the season.

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum looked like the real deal last night.

Celtics won't just slip into mediocrity because of the Hayward injury.

They also aren't winning the East, which was the only thing I was getting at with my comment.

To think Houston traded 7 critical depth players and cash for this dude in his 14th NBA season

Maybe not, but they also have about a 0% chance of getting to the Finals now.

Regardless of interpretation that's a ton of the nucleus that supplemented Harden's otherworldly production and propelled the Rockets to 55 wins and the 3 West seed, Beverley a defensive beast

Looks like the Cavs won the trade after all.

Wait, did people think that the Cavs lost that trade?

Half or more of those 7 were added via trade to HOU just to make the deal work, you were intentionally embellishing to help your point.

That's great. And you trade 2-3 depth pieces for an elite player every single time.

Beverley a defensive beast
Paul is just as good as Beverly defensively. Now, offensively...

Many did, though I think the general thought was somewhere in the middle, pretty even.

Hot Take:

Jaylen Brown is going to be really good this season.

Yea, I think it was a fair trade. And, I still think it was a fair trade. If anything Cleveland got more for Kyrie than Chicago got for Butler and Indiana got for George.

7 players and cash for 1 is all I'm saying, I don't need to embellish bc facts are facts but I see your point about adding those outside non-Houston players to sweeten the deal, NO ONE PLAYER is worth 7 PLAYERS is my point.

Yea, which is just amazing to me.

I'd take Butler or PG in a heartbeat over Kyrie.

I think the Celtics will end up around a 6 seed. I don't see Jaylen or Tatum being consistent enough night in and night out on offense to fill in the gaps from their departures and Hayward. They will show flashes though as we saw last night. I love love love Brown's defense and game IQ.

Kyrie is going to flourish in Boston and I think we really see him start to round his game out. He's shown great signs as a passer in the preseason and in the opener. Hopefully Stevens can get him going on the defensive end as well.

Otherwise, I think more people will appreciate Gary Harris as this season rolls along. And I'm intrigued by the development of Caris Levert, Skal Labissiere, Alex Len, Jamal Murray, Patrick McCaw, and Justise Winslow this season.

And I'm ready for some Yabusele!!!

Except that's not "all" you were saying when you claimed it to be 7 "critical" depth players.

Then why did you?

quote:

bc facts are facts last I checked those 7 played and participated on a 55 win West 3 seed
I think 3 of those players never played a game for Houston.

quote:

NO ONE PLAYER is worth 7 PLAYERS is my point now hush.

That's the dumbest point I've seen today. Any team in the league would trade their bench for Lebron, KD, Kawhi, Steph...the list goes on and on and on.

Dude thinks all 7 guys in the trade played for Houston and were critical to their success last season.

You could argue them to be critical depth players, always better to go 12-deep than simply 8
