Yea?

Even the ones that never put a Rockets jersey on? They were critical players to Houston's success?

Warriors win it all. Don't know why people get so invested in this when it's already known what the outcome is.

NO ONE PLAYER is worth 7 PLAYERS is my point.

If the Pelicans traded their 2-8 best players for LeBron they would win more games than what they will win this season with their current roster. I don't think anyone will argue against that.

Now make it their 6th through 12th best players.

Looks like the Cavs won the trade after all.

WTF? Where would Boston be without Kyrie right now? Losing Hayward is crippling but at least we still have kyrie to lead the team and take pressure off of Jaylen and Tatum

I can appreciate the logic of making that argument relative to LeGOAT who also functions as one of the greatest leaders of men in sports history as pertains to trading the Pels' 2-8 best players

You do understand that you're arguing that you wouldn't trade Chris Paul for Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, Patrick Beverly and a few guys that didn't even play for the Rockets last season, right?

I don't think you realize that. Actually you're confirmed 100% that you do not realize that.

Let's just go back over these players you're arguing for:

Patrick Beverley
Lou Williams
Sam Dekker
Montrezl Harrell
Deandre Liggins
Darrun Hilliard
Kyle Wiltjer

Not to mention the fact that they added Moute and Tucker. It's not like they are playing with 5 players

The players Houston traded were:

Patrick Beverley
Sam Dekker
Lou Williams
Montrezl Harrell
Kyle Wiltjer
Deandre Liggins
Darrun Hilliard

Darrun Hilliard and Deandre Liggins were acquired from other teams specifically to match money in this trade. They were only on the Rockets for a few hours before they were traded to the Clippers.

Kyle Wiltjer was on the Rockets' D-League team and never saw minutes on the Rockets.

So really, the trade was Beverley, Dekker, Lou Williams, and Harrell for Chris Paul.

Harrell only played as a 3rd center on days when Nene got the night off. He's an energy guy but is undersized. Rockets replaced him with Tarik Black, who I think is an upgrade for the role.

Sam Dekker has potential, but will never be more than a decent role player. Rockets replaced him with Luc Mbah a Moute who is a veteran who is a defensive upgrade and can shoot the 3 better.

Lou Williams can score but had virtually no impact on the team last season. They didn't do any better when the acquired him for Corey Brewer. The Rockets replaced him with PJ Tucker who is a huge defensive upgrade and will have a much bigger positive impact on the team than Lou Williams.

And Patrick Beverley is a nice player, but he's not Chris Paul.

So in the end, the Rockets replaced:

Patrick Beverley
Sam Dekker
Lou Williams
Montrezl Harrell

with:

Chris Paul
Luc Mbah a Moute
PJ Tucker
Tarik Black

I'd say that's a pretty substantial upgrade.

the one which says both are overwhelming favorites to win?

Bama is 4/5
GSW is 5/12

regardless, its silly to criticize the NBA for knowing "who is going to win", when college football has nearly the exact same issue

I'm sure you have been corrected, but the Rockets vastly improved our playoff rotation this offseason, and that's a fact. Last night, Houston looked sloppy and won a road game against the Warriors.

Chris Paul
James Harden
Trevor Ariza
Ryan Anderson
Clint Capela
Eric Gordon
Nene
Luc Mbah a Moute
PJ Tucker

That is an extremely solid 9-man rotation.

Mbah a Moute and PJ Tucker were smart additions. Adding those two to Ariza's defensive presence is massive. Last year's team could not have gotten the 4th quarter stops to stay in that game. Rockets had fun regular season depth last year that came up very short in the playoffs. This year looks much different.

Assuming health Rockets will be with in a few games even possibly ahead of the Warriors for most of the season
