That's rich coming from a coach in the biggest joke on earth. Yeah, he's the best, but it's a smartest retard situation

Thats rich coming from the best coach in a sport where there are 3 good teams out of 200.

Doesn't make him wrong though

Shorten the shot clock and institute defensive 3 seconds. I'm sure basketball would look much more "NBA ready" with more man defense and pick and roll offense. I personally prefer college the way it is (minus the 35 second clock). It's a different look at the same game. I don't want to see less talented NBA players playing NBA style ball.

Yeah that would be fine
There's no reason for the shot clock to be as long as it is.

How about he nut up and coach a men's team
Posted on 4/1/15 at 4:03 pm to RonBurgundy
He's not wrong, but the women's game is far worse to watch. On top of certain rule changes regarding the shot clock, HS eligibility in the draft, etc., the college game needs a bit of a makeover in the officiating department. Too many times do referees kill the flow of a game with needless whistles.

Dude is coaching women's fricking basketball. That is the only sport that is a joke. Not men's basketball. Dude's probably mad he wouldn't be nearly as successful with the men than he is with the women. What a fricking moron.

Heard him on Van Pelt after the 3:30 commercial break. Van Pelt interviewed him, and he said the women's game is even worse than the men's, and cited examples.

Serious shite: one day I was fishing, and my buddy's GF went to cast and on her back swing, she hooked me in the side of the neck, then proceeded with her casting motion and left me with a 4 1/2 in slice in my neck that required 27 stitches after a 45 minute boat ride and hour and a half car ride
Still wasn't as painful as watching womens' basketball

100% agree.
I even made the comment the other night at how amazingly large the gap was in the quality of play between college basketball and the NBA. As a fan who enjoys basketball more than football, it's borderline painful to watch college basketball sometimes. You'll see multiple games where the score is something like 23-19 at halftime. It really is a joke sometimes.
I'm not sure what needs to be done, TBH. But I do know that college football and college baseball is just as enjoyable (if not more so) than its professional counterpart. But the NCAA needs to do something to make the basketball games more enjoyable, so kudos to Geno for speaking up and saying what a lot of people were probably thinking

I heard it too just a little while ago, Geno saying WCBB is worse.
For a fix, I would like to see a 24 second shot clock. 2 year minimum (would like 3 like football).

Doesn't the women have a 30 second shot clock? So maybe Geno's on the right track. Also, there aren't any women basketball fans delusional enough to believe their product compares in any way to the NBA unlike MCBB fans.

Solid.

I see this as the coaches totally clamping down on their talent. Minimize mistakes, milk the clock, play defense.
I'm just waiting for the day I hear a college basketball coach say, "There are only three things that can happen when you shoot the ball, and two of them are bad".

I know he he said it but I can't take what he says seriously considering he coaches the fraudulent sham that's called Wonen's colleg basketball.
