Academically speaking, USC>Alabama no matter where you are

The better question is why wouldn't a recruit want to come to USC? One of the top football programs and schools along with being mile from downtown LA. Life is pretty good here

One could easily make the argument that USC doesn't develop their players as well as other schools. I have a hard time thinking of an elite USC player who's football skills improved that much from the first moment he stepped on the field at USC until his last snap.

That being said, atmosphere, the chance every year to play for a championship, and a good school... Anyone who gets an offer from USC to play football would be a fool not to consider it.

It's not like 2 people were horribly murdered at LSU a couple years ago Yeah there is never any crime anywhere else in the country just at USC

If Bradford was robbed, the university would have to do some serious covering since every robbery is sent in an email to the student body with exactly what happened. It's a pretty public process.

Also, to get robbed around USC, you pretty much have to be walking by yourself early in morning in an area that everyone knows not to walk.

Or the USC BB guard who was murdered while visiting his hometown here in BR LA.

the area has had a reviltilization in recent years with the Staples Center and the inflow from downtown into the area....it was that bad in the 80s and 90s. It's not anymore

No. I am just saying that folks who talk crap about SC and the surrounding area need to look right here in BR LA because per capita it is pretty close. As USC6158 pointed out the SC campus is probably a safe or safer than the LSU campus, at least in terms of the likelihood of getting murdered.

I'm not even saying that because it probably isn't true. All I was saying is that crime happens everywhere and LSU and USC both aren't immune. Is USC in an area that could be better? Absolutely, but it's improved to the point that the chances of getting robbed unless you're walking around at 2 in the morning by yourself in an area you know not to go is very low. There are a lot of ideas about South Central and USC that simply aren't true at this point. old stereotypes that don't apply

I don't know the data on the campus out there. Have there been murders on SC campus in the last ten years?

I like your optimism guy, but USC isn't in too great of a place. You get near Fig or go anywhere south of campus proper and it is pretty damn scary.

And being 1 mile from dowtown is not good either, even with the revitalization.

Either because ESPN is involved in a huge Watergate type cover up for SC or it is not true (the gang trouble part

Yeah cause there couldn't possibly be another explanation besides those two.

I go to USC and live 2 blocks from campus. you don't need to tell me what it's like around USC. Yes you are right, going south on Fig is a bad idea, which is why everyone knows not to go there. North of campus is perfectly fine and basically all college students

that kind of crime unrepresentative of lsu's campus and can and does happen on any campus. the types of crimes we are talking about is involving innocent people becoming victims and usc's campus is horrible in that respect (robbery, carjacking, assault, theft, and rape).
