It’s a bit weird to watch in this format.

Besides the format, the most jarring thing is just how much slower the game was played

Forgot how much I hated Antoine Carr.

That’s why the NBA changed the rules. The NBA was a boring, slow-paced isolation game.

The league wanted an uptempo ball movement game. It took several years, but they succeeded.

And yet this is the most watched game in NBA history.

Because of Michael Jordan, not because the style of play was really fun to watch.

I’m sorry, but I just don’t think this Utah Jazz team was really THAT good.

These camera angles are not enjoyable. You can't see half the court and the panning is not smooth.

There hasn’t been a single NBA Finals game with this many white guys since this game.

They only won 62 games that year.

NBA has tinkered and fricked with the game ever since they went all in on Jordan.

But no league has changed rules, tinkered, adjusted for more scoring like the NFL.

The worst playoff game to happen to the NFL is Pats Colts around 2004 when Peyton Manning looked like shite and got beat up by the Pats.

NFL said, no more of that. He's one our big stars...we're going to open up the game for him.

Bill Polian lobbied and the NFL changed the rules.

Kukoc would be so much better in today’s game

Except today’s NBA style blows.

Yeah man. Utah scoring 54 points in a Finals game was awesome.

The reason it looks easier now is cause it is easier now. The game is simple enough for a 5th grader and there’s no defense or resistance inside.

I’m not arguing what is or was easier. It’s just different styles. It’s a natural evolution of a game.

These teams could absolutely score more but it just wasn’t the mentality.

It’s basketball for idiots. The younger fans have the attention span of a gnat and the players don’t know much about the game either. There are no continuous or multi layered offenses and without any resistance of movement the game is simply turn the corner on your man, 90% of all players can do this, if the help comes move the ball then keep it in front of the rotation. That’s modern NBA basketball, it takes all of 5 minutes to teach.

Jacking up wide open three after three with no resistance from defenses is real fun to watch.

The people who enjoy that style of play probably think the MLB is better now when everybody strikes out because everybody is trying to drop bombs because that’s what the nerds in the analytics departments think is best.
