back in the day BYU had a prolific cute offense and no D and one year, when all the real football teams slipped, they won a NC. this may be your year

Well, whatever...

But if Kiffin said Lee was going to play safety next week I'd be up in arms.

I really hope we get an SEC team.

BYU also beat #1 Miami in 1990.

...and when BYU won the national title in 1984, they played a WAC schedule and beat an unranked Michigan team in their bowl game.

I'm not aware of how you can win the BCS National Championship by beating an unranked opponent.

But nice troll.

Not to mention that aTm just beat the best SEC team after giving up 57 LaTech. Sarkalina, Georgia, et al. have all given up a lot of points at some point. If you take into account that they ground and pound, their defense has off days.

Oh, that's my point. Thanks for proving it was such a fluke you remember it 20 years later

That's your point...Oregon is good enough to beat the best in the land? Great point.

And if Oregon wins the title this year...they will have beaten (apart from the next highest rated team in the land - unlike BYU's national title) more teams with a winning record than Alabama last year...and beaten the next highest rated team in the BCS the same amount of times Bama beat them...once...and perhaps the Heisman Trophy winner too.

But no, that's just like BYU in 1984.

Oregon still has to beat Stanford, Oregon State and USC/UCLA, which are all top 20 teams. I really don't see how that is similar in any way.

is this because you think you would win?

or

because a win against a non sec team might be looked upon as a lesser win?

Probably both. I think it is a moot point though. I think USC wins out and defeats Oregon in the PXIICG.

Bammers everywhere are stopping me now and begging me to "beat ND and Oregon" when they see my USC gear. They need USC to win to give them that mulligan for aTm. Ironically fun times.

Stanford beats Oregon this week and USC game is up in the air, IMO.

A one-loss Oregon would not make Miami, but a one-loss Alabama would do it in a heartbeat.

Stanford's a lot like Bama-lite. And Oregon is a much more complete version of what A&M is trying to do.

And what's going to stop Oregon from scoring 60 on you guys again? Unicorns? Magic Dust? Pop Up sprinkler heads?

Oregon will roll through the rest of the schedule, There is no one left that can beat them.

It's much easier to beat a good team once you've already played them. Any LSU fan knows this (see 1/9.) It's not like we didn't win the last game we played up there. Even with all their own improvements, we scored 51 on them. Fewer turnovers, and we'd have won the last one too.
