Where are old perennials? Curtis, Evangel

Curtis is finally playing up in the state's top class and they are 0 for 2 in winning state titles. Evangel fumbled with a minute left then lost in overtime to Catholic last week.

West Monroe?

Not sure if they won one in the last 4 or so years.

Your knowledge of high school football is impressive... Are/were you a coach?

i might be one day... working full time and still in school to get a teaching degree...

but i follow my old high school because the last thing the world needs is another Rantard. Just like I was a VooDoo fan... somebody needed to stick up for them on the message boards

I hated chalmette in HS because they were in our district... Always a tough game in baseball and and physical matchup in football...

I think the Catholic v Rummel game will be on Fox Sports New Orleans.

Anyone know if it will be on TV in Baton Rouge?

All the games can be streamed on https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/ But you have to pay for it.

When is the LHSAA going to fix this mess?

There is a proposal which would get rid of the select/non-select split and split schools based on rural/urban. It's pretty popular among public school principals and basically proves that the original split had nothing to do with equity and everything to do with winning more state titles and money.

Really?! Great for him. He was my freshman football coach at CHS, along with Neil Weiner and Robert Funderburk. I believe it was the first year of coaching high school football for all 3 of them.

ETA: I knew you meant Brewerton.

if they go by the preliminary proposals here, it's a stupid joke.

if Lewis Cook did this I hope he isn't teaching anyone's kids math. the divisions need to be evened out so that 5-5 teams aren't missing the playoffs while 0-10 teams are making it. The metro big school divisions are too big compared to the smaller school divisions. There are 162 rural schools and 132 metro.

Out of all the current 5A schools, only 11 are "rural", so why even bother? They want to bring all the 1A schools together in one proposal, so just let the big schools play together.

Water is wet, the sky is skipper blue, and mandeville is in the semifinals. Again. Mandeville owns the northshore.

Finally competing with teams on their level and the results are not shocking.

When Curtis competes with schools that have the same size roster and coaching staffs that they do, amazingly, they are mortal.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say Curtis will drop out of the Catholic League sooner than anyone thinks... Rummel will make that azz quit

Nah but when football success is the reason kids choose your school you better win. They went 4-2 in district during down years for Jesuit and St. Aug.
