Who saw this final 4 coming?
Do any of these schools have 5A state championships?
Posted on 12/4/15 at 10:23 am to bwallcubfan
none in 5A, but Ehret has won the highest classification back when it was 4A in the 80s

Neville and Rummel are the only two teams with a 5A championship left in the playoffs...

I know Zachary doesn't. They may have one (or just an appearance in the ship) in 3A from the 80s or before. They were first in 5A in like '99 and '00 and dropped down for two years I believe and then went back up in like '03.
Looking forward to the game tonight.

Absolutely RIDICULOUS that the Southern Lab game is being played right NOW, and it's already in the second quarter. This split bullshite has to go.

Did you go to the CHS vs Ehret game this year? I was there and I was stunned at how, especially after the first quarter, the CHS defense had no ability to stop the Jet Sweep from Ehret. It was impressive. What was not impressive was the pathetic crowd and band brought by Ehret. I remember when they were a power back in the 80s. Maybe this playroff run will get the Ehret fan base back into it.

It is. I just saw the score on my twitter screen. Didn't realize they played them this early.

Last year the Jesuit - Curtis game didn't start until after 10 pm if I remember correctly.
The split is horrific. Beyond that, playing 4 games in the Dome in one day is beyond stupid. At least split them up between today and tomorrow. Or a Thursday night game and noon / 4 pm / 8 pm on Friday.

Go Cougs.
When is the LHSAA going to fix this mess? This playoff format makes me FURIOUS.

I did... I thought it was a good game until we ran out of gas late in the third quarter (went from 14-7 to 37-7 in like 6 minutes), but that's why they're still playing and I'm going to CYO basketball tonight we were just too young and small on defense, but most of those kids will be back next year as we rebuild the offense.
these John Ehret seniors went 0-9 as freshmen btw. they weren't making dumb penalties and mistakes like we saw against Landry Walker and the rest of the district

Wasn't she the "architect" of the split?

She was its most vocal advocate if she didn't orchestrate it.

Throughout the Baton Rouge and Lafayette markets, prep fans can tune into Cox 4 to see Parkway traveling to face Zachary. The 2nd-seeded Broncos enter the game with a 12-1 overall record after dropping Hahnville 55-27 last week. Parkway, also with a 12-1 record on the season, toppled Destrehan 49-34 a week ago. Across the CST footprint and on Cox 4 in New Orleans, fans will be treated to Mandeville at John Ehret. The Skippers, ranked #12 in the postseason, dismantled Landry-Walker 31-14 in the quarterfinal round, while 9th-ranked Ehret enters following a 34-7 win against Ponchatoula. Joel Davis, Marlon Favorite and Hayley Asaro will serve as the broadcast team for this contest.
Both games are scheduled to kick off live at 7:00pm.
