Front catcher or back catcher????

To what position on a baseball field does this refer. I've it heard for a third time, and still can't figure it out. Help please.

I think it's more likely referring to lawn mowers. Which are, in fact, used on baseball fields.
Which reminds me of a joke---You know why Grady Little never mows his lawn? He doesn't know how to pull the starter.

I've heard country(rural) white folks say it too....I associate it with rural folks.....back catcher or even bat catcher.......
