while I understand the NCAA talk, this should be the least of every one's concerns.

I'll read all the details later, but I've changed my stance on this whole PSU situation (in terms of institutional control, and I was no JoePa defender here either). frick them all

I don't know how any of those people can live with themselves.

From the Timeline:
June 1999:
* A retirement agreement with Sandusky is reached, including a unusual lump sum payment of $168,000, an agreement for the University to “work collaboratively" with Sandusky on Second Mile and other community activities, and free lifetime use of East Area Locker Room facilities.
July 24, 2001 (after the infamous shower incident):
* Schultz leads a transaction to sell a parcel of University property to The Second Mile for $168,500 – the same as the University’s 1999 acquisition cost.
If that isn't an invitation for the NCAA to get involved, I don't know what is.

The victim lawsuits will bankrupt the university.

1. A large part of that was a $88m gift from an alum in the state's natural gas industry. When the total donations are $274m, an $88m gift is about 1/3 of all donations.
2. They did a huge fundraising campaign begging for donations that came to a head right before the shite hit the fan.

I only wish Joe Pa was still alive to see the backlash on him and his legacy. I've been saying it since the first report last Fall, Joe Pa covered it up!

report is out: "PSU showed 'total disregard' for Sandusky victims"
I believe everything the report says about JoePa, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt only in regards to Penn St.'s BOT.
They hired Freeh to do this report, and I'm wondering if some whitewashing of facts regarding what certain Trustees knew has been included

I can't cut and paste from Acrobat Reader, but Ginger called Joe Pa the next day. Their conversation:
Ginger: We need to talk.
Joe Pa: I don't have a full time job for you so if that's what this regards, don't bother.
Ginger soon stfu's and gets a full time job.
I'm changing my vote. The NCAA can certainly hammer them for LOIC.

This is what happens when you have an isolated college town with people in power as long as they have been. They are almost not even living in reality.
I'm not sure the NCAA should get involved just because they are a joke. But something needs to be done, the university needs to try and cut this off, but i doubt they will. Obviously they don't have that sort of foresight and have an air of invincibility about them.

This guy running the conference is not holding back his punches. He has taken the gloves off

I want to know the real reason why Paterno was so adamant in protecting Sandusky.
What dirt did the pedophile have on Paterno?

@slmandel: Penn State received word the indictment was coming around Oct. 27 last yr. On Oct. 29 Sandusky attended PSU game, in Nittany Lion Club.
Wow. Turn a blind eye.

Well from what I read they were really close...like best friends...but I'd like to think I would rat out my best friend if I knew about this.

I think it was about protecting his brand more so than sandusky.
