The 32 owners didn't get together and agree not to sign him.

No team thinks he's worth the trouble at his asking price. He could have stayed on SF if he wanted.

The real comparison should be to what teams already have. If the starter is better than Kaep, the team is looking for a backup, and a backup shouldn't be seen or heard.

It's very simple, kapernick has made himself a complete distraction. That's ok if you're good, but kap is not worth the trouble.

Exactly

Being a major distraction is much more tolerable when that player is Randy Moss compared to a backup QB who might not even see the field who is much easier to replace

Why in the world did he opt out of his contract?

This along with reportedly wanting starter money
I really don't think this is too crazy as he still could provide lower tier starter production

We'll find out his value once some starters start going down.

We'll see. I don't think he's getting a shot even though I think he should

Yeah that's quite odd bc Kap did run a West Coast variation with spread elements under Harbaugh and thrived under that and Shanahan's gonna implement that offense in Bay Town, whereas they were pure spread under Kelly and that failed miserably(though Kap performed ok).

I can't hire a guy that's going to piss off half of my fan base. Why would I want to alienate any of my fans. He isn't going to win a super bowl at this point and he will lose you loyal supporters. It's way easier to pass on that headache. There are a lot of businesses that wouldn't hire a guy that's going to lose you business... most businesses.

The players too. He's not going to be popular in the locker room with a considerable group of players. Hes not going to unite and lead a team.

who cares. He should be blackballed. Who wants a worthless unpatriotic fool quarterbacking their team?

I seriously doubt the 32 owners got together and said we aren't hiring this guy. He's probably asking for too much money, and he is an extremely niche QB.

Teams, for continuity sake, usually want a shitty version of their starter as a backup. There are only so many teams that have starting QBs that will run. I'd love to see how much he wants, because it was weird to me that Seattle didn't grab him. He fits their system and would probably be cheered out there.

He's obviously not very good at decision-making.

Or maybe he knew nobody wanted a distraction when the could get anyone to hold a clipboard, and not getting signed would give him martyr status.

The owner of the N.Y.Football Giants said that he got swamped with messages from his season ticket holders telling him not to sign CK. This is the same N.Y. City that is notoriously liberal. If those fans do not want him, that speaks volumes about his popularity or complete lack of same.

There isn't any deeper meaning to the story or Kaepernick. He put himself in this position and nobody should feel bad about it aside from his dumbass. Your job is no place to take a stand against something like the pledge of allegiance, keep that shite at home and do work. It's so simple

All that writing means nothing. Unless he comes out and says he is willing to take a dirt cheap contract then we have no idea if he's actually being blackballed.

But assuming he wants to be paid fairly(top 20-32 QB) he's definitely not getting signed because of the "distraction"

It's quite apparent his asking price is prohibitive to teams as well considering most organizations have their QB composition determined and wouldn't be willing pay that much to someone who'll likely hold the clipboard at this point. Teams without that luxury should attempt to negotiate that price down to a reasonable figure but they haven't expressed such willingness.

Ok. Just like he has a right to kneel, an owner of a business has a right to not sign him.
