Shreveport must really not want any part of Neville. Only 3 district games while Shreveport has 8?

D'arbonne Woods got the shaft in district. WOW! Tough luck for a school that's only been in the LHSAA for 2 or 3 years.

I can't keep up with all the split bs. I thought I heard that eventually the select would no longer play non select in the regular season. Does that only happen if the selects form their own association?

worrying about districts is a small class problem... i love how 5A is as straightforward as it gets

this process takes too long and too many people have input, and the districts mean little in the age of power points. they need to probably add a bonus in the power ratings for first place and ties just like basketball does

You can't really have district games 1.5+ hours away, but it looks really funny on paper.

Disagree. With only 2 non district games, those Shreveport teams will likely be severely underseeded in the playoffs. It's a zero sum game, so they will have x amount of teams finish with really bad records and/or everyone around the same mark. In theory the teams in District 2, could play 7 9-1 teams, with that team being their only loss.

West Monroe and Ouachita travel 1.5-2 hours to play Natchitoches Central, Pineville, and ASH in District.

You aren't wrong, but all it means is two road trips to Caddo Parish per season. It's not all that bad.

Football isn't bad. Softball/baseball for 3 game series is when it sucks.

It's not horrible for football. The kicker as JJ stated will be the multiple midweek travels for GBB, BBB, BB, and SB. They will most likely have to leave early from school to make it there, then not make it home until very late at night or early in the morning. Horrible job by the LHSAA in there planning.

what i would change in NOLA is to have Karr, Easton, Carver, Lake Area, and 35 all in the same district with the other one being Riverdale, Helen Cox, McMain, and Belle Chasse

maybe even combine the Northshore 4A into those and put Franklinton, Salmen, and Lakeshore in the first district and Pearl River in the second

for class 3A i'd put Thomas Jefferson with their rival Haynes

in 2A for basketball and baseball, i'd trade Newman for Patrick Taylor and MLK Charter...

for class B i'd either have Algiers Tech and Crescent City in a two team district or just executive order drop them to the NOLA class C district. if they cry foul, remind them those teams ain't winning state anyways

then of course move First Baptist in Slidell (the Gabrielle Jennings school) from Baton Rouge C to NOLA C

E.D. White will be a nice addition but I do miss being in 5A with Central Lafourche and Thibodaux.

Just feels like tradition to all be in the same district together.

Minden is a little over an hour away from Monroe. That's one from the 9-team district that could move over to the 4-team district.

Actually another more viable option is to divide it up into 2 districts, 4 and 5. That way, every 4A team north of Alexandria is in a 4 or 5 team district.

And if mileage is an issue, then why don't they split 3 5A in 2? Sulphur, Barbe, LaGrange, and Sam in one. Acadiana, Comeaux, Lafayette, New Iberia in the other. It's two hours from Sulphur to New Iberia.

District 8:
DISTRICT 8
1. Bonnabel
2. Chalmette
3. East Jefferson
4. Ehret, John
5. Higgins, L.W.
6. King, Grace
7. Landry-Walker
8. West Jefferson

Lots of rivalries there. Or they were at one time, perhaps they still are to the players.

McMain and Riverdale were with the 4A Northshore schools in a draft one I saw. I would've been pissed had they stayed in that crap.

That 9-3A district is a joke

Looks like Clark might be a dead school at this point. They were 3A before and I don't think they even had 20 players on their football team.

I know but it doesn't feel the same to me.

I think South Lafourche will be in 4A for a long time so I'll just need to get used it.
