Is it just me or does it seem to you that the typical ESPN game broadcast has twice as much commercial time as CBS? It's quite noticeable.

Most nfl games are on cbs and fox and they try and keep the game around 3 hours.

They reserve the 4 hour broadcasts for SEC games.

The other way around - CBS has the most commercial-laden broadcasts out of all of them.

Gotta make up for those multimillion (or multibillion) dollar contracts they've handed out to the SEC, Big 10, NFL, NBA, et al.

Don't like the amount of commercials in college games? Ask your conference or athletics dept to take less money when the contracts come up.

I actually think it's the opposite. For NFL and CFB games, there seems to a lot more commercials aired on CBS than ESPN.

I can watch a game on CBS and have so many commercials I can watch a game on ESPN without missing any of my game or that one. It's that bad.
