It's your duty as a fellow coach/adult to tell someone about the harm done to the kid. If not you could get into legal trouble for failure to act.

hmm... do I go to the police after the HC does nothing upon my informing him that I caught his old arse DC diddling a kid in the shower or do I stay quiet and accept a higher paying coaching position at the school and pretend like nothing happened?

such a tough decision to make...
See, I told you it was tough.

If any grown man ever lays his hands on my son he better get ready because I am coming to see him. I have seen a lot of arse chewing but I have never seen a coach lay his hands on a player with the intention of hurting the kid. It's just a game not life and death.

You should have said something when it happened.

If the kid's dad who this happened to finds out you knew this happened and didn't do anything, he would be justified in whipping your arse too

When I was in 9th grade I was the point guard for my jr high team. we had probably the meanest coach in basketball history lol, dude did not fuk around whatsoever, but we were always damn good and dhe ccould coach his arse off.

Right before halftime of a game i stole the ball and was on a fast break by myself basically and took the ball behind my back and slapped the backboard (i was only 14 lol) on a layup.

so we go into halftime and not 1 foot into the loker room coach takes me by the jersey and throws me against the wall and tells me if that if i ever show boat like that again in a game he'll take my jersey and give it to someone else . he's in my face and jacks me up. i was like well okay then lol. that was that.

i mean, you got coaches like that. but that's about as far as he would take it he never hit a player, like physically hit him but he had no qualms about jacking your arse up lol and making you run suicides for 2 hours.

If it's as severe as you described, the situation goes above coaching, football, hurt feelings, and "snitching"...being in the position you're in you're a mandated reporter of any child abuse and neglect...decking a kid definitely falls in line with the definition of child abuse.

You have a duty to report harsh behavior as a coach, and an even bigger duty to report child abuse as a mandated reporter. If you don't, I don't think you know just how much trouble you can get into.

Contact CPS. It sounds silly but that could definitely be construed as abuse and you want to make sure someone is notified if for no other reason than to cover yourself.

Also contact your supervisor/AD/Principal. Those two things will cover your arse when shite goes down (and it almost assuredly will).
