Fernando Alonso´s first F1 race.
Amazing how time flies (and how precocious he was).

I reallly hope Mclaren gets their shite together this season.

How has Schumacher done in his recovery?
The Ferrari team just has seemed to just flounder since he left.
I was a McLaren fan with Senna, partly because they had same paint scheme as Penske Racing.

They won back to back championships immediately after he left.

Yeah no doubt. I can't imagine how Alonso and Jensen Button feel. Everyone thought Button was going to bail on the team and jump over to WEC last year. When he didn't, I thought that maybe he saw a light at the end of the tunnel and that's what kept him on the team. But in the testing over the last couple of weeks, it seems that they're doing better but still have a long way to go. Both Alonso and Button were as positive and upbeat as you could expect anyone to be during that miserable season last year. For their sake, I hope McLaren (and more importantly Honda) get it figured out quick. That said, I don't think anybody are going to challenge the Mercs until next year.

I am not huge F1 fan, but thought the Hamilton and Mercedes Petro team took over.

They are the dominant team right now. Ferrari are chasing them and maybe making up some ground but the Mercs are too fast and too reliable. I expect another dominant year from Hamilton/Rosberg & Mercedes.

After Shumi left Ferrari, Ferrari was still strong for a few years. Then it was Lewis and Alonso at Mclaren, A year of absolute annihilation by Brawn GP (all white car, very few sponsors, crazy season. Literally bought the honda (or toyota?) team, wrecked shop for a year and then got bought out by Mercedes). Then we had like 5 years straight of Vettel and Red Bull dominance. Now Mercedes (formerly Brawn) and Lewis are crushing the field.

Alonso is one hell of a driver. He deserves a decent (he only needs decent to win).

Really hoping Haas can at least be competitive this year. Good to have a US team back in the mix.

They'll be competitive with somebody. The question is who. If they're racing Manor all year, I'll be disappointed but if they can get into the back of the midfield, then I'd call that a successful first year. If they scored a point, I'd be delighted.

His agent recently shot down rumors that he is walking.

He had to be, he was racing in a damn Minardi.

I honestly believe he is the best driver on the grid. He can overcome weak cars. Prime example is how he got the most out of that pig of a Ferrari they gave him to race during his last season at Maranello.

Sasha Cohen's character in Ricky Bobby had to be patterned after that guy. He looks like the spitting image in some Google images.

Also a reminder of how boring F1 has become

Schumacher, unfortunately, will never recover. He suffered the same type of injury that killed Jules Bianchi. Its sad to hear that he is in that type of state considering that he was such a dominant driver.

The latest news about 46-year-old former Ferrari and Mercedes driver Schumacher is that his wife Corinna has sold his private jet and favourite holiday home in Norway. The usually well-connected German weekly Bunte claims she made the decision "When it became clear that the old Schumi perhaps would never return".

F1 great Michael Schumacher's former boss at Ferrari has said the latest news about the German's health "is not good" but has refused to elaborate.
"I have news and unfortunately it is not good," Luca di Montezemolo told reporters on Thursday.
When contacted by BBC Sport, Schumacher's official spokesperson Sabine Kehm declined to comment.

I remember Mika Hakkinen (sp)? and David Coulthard. What happened to them?

DC is a correspondent with either BBC or Sky Sports and covers all the races last I checked.
