that school seems to get a lot of talent and plays in a lower conference. why would any coach want to leave?

Like Dana Dimel and Kim Helton?

And LOL at not seeing the advantages of coming to LSU.

Actually, it has plenty to do with LSU until the "Coaching Changes" board is reinstated. Don't be a jerk.

What do you mean by win big?

Did Art Briles win big in his 10-4 best season?

you have to know i'm talking about their last 3 HC's.

seriously tho, they are in a great spot to sign lot's of top athletes and they do so. HC making 3.5 mil ain't bad.

They are only signing big names because of Herman. The guy before him got fired by the way.

I agree, which is why Herman didn't leave for a place like SC. LSU and Texas I think would be tough to turn down. But I wouldn't be shocked if he stayed, built the program, and became a Houston legend without having to deal with the pressure of UT or LSU.

What do you mean by "top athletes?"
247 sports says they've signed 5 players with a composite ranking of .90 or better.. ALL Time (which is admittedly only back to like 1998).
LSU signed 17 with a composite score of .90 or better in 2016.

then talk about coaching changes when there is a forum to do so.

LSU has a coach, so actually, this conversation is tired

Could be bad for LSU recruiting if UH joins a big time conference.

The graphic during the UH v Okie game showed most major conferences had a recruiting base off approx 350 miles. All of UH players were within 30 miles of their campus! Crazy stat! area is loaded w talent.

Because LSU is a lot better destination than UH. A lot more talent to work with.

The SEC is known as the toughest conference in football. Especially the West. If Herman came in and beat Nicky and competed for national titles every year, he would he know as one of the greatest!

Houston isn't moving to the Big 12 anyway.

LSU and the SEC is much more appealing to a competitive coach. Plus he will get paid!

LSU will always have a presence in Houston but adding Houston to the Power 5 will increase the recruiting pressure. Now those kids can stay in the city and play big time football.

Then you still have to recruit against A&M and UT.

Stupid. They haven't like him.. plus they can't afford one loss like other conferences.. and no matter how good you are.. it's a ton of pressure especially for them to win every single game

Why are you so sure?

Let's suspend the hysteria for a moment and look at this rationally, a stretch for the Rant to be sure.

If Herman is continues to win and even makes the final 4 the Big 12 will be beating down Houston's doors to join up. That conference desperately needs a new marquee name. Oklahoma is faded and Texas is still struggling. UH in the final 4 gives the Big 12 instant star sparkle. Personally I don't think that UH has to make the final 4. If they finish with a w-l record better than Oklahoma and Texas, an invite should be a slam dunk.
