Soccer games seem to be on all the time - do they have an offseason?

Not if you play for your national team. Even if you don't play on the national team, you may only get a month off.

I'm sure every player has a different preference. I'll say this, I've coached high school football for a long time and absolutely love it, but by Saturday I pretty much only watch LSU and don't watch any NFL anymore. Need to take a break from it at some point during the week

This is my feeling as well. At the end of the day, it's still a job. if you're a baseball player who has to spend 50-60 hours a week solely on baseball, why would you want to spend even more time watching the sport during the little time that you have off?

NFL and NBA players watch other games and tweet about them quite frequently. They can always learn stuff from watching other teams but baseball really isn't like that as much.

NFL players play games once a week while NBA players typically play three or four games a week. MLB players have 21 off-days over an entire six month season. NBA players have the same number of off-days in six weeks than MLB players have in six months. So yeah, it's a lot easier for NBA players to watch other NBA games because they have a lot more free time than baseball players do.

Bench, do you have Alabama board access? Would like to have your baseball knowledge in the Alabama baseball threads next season.

I'll have to ask then.

There's like 2-3 others that give a shite. Don't know if you follow Alabama baseball, but I thought you said you did.

Are we really comparing these two?

One guy plays 162 games in 180 days.

The other doesn't.

You tell me which one is more likely to grab a beer and flip on a rival's game.

Soccer players on good teams play a f ton of games a year and have like a 2 month off season and the Internationals often don't even get that.

Sort of a bad example. While playing HS football, did you watch College or NFL football? probably so. Obviously you don't watch other HS games because they are normally played at the same time and not televised.

Agreed. Baseball is just a slower paced game that is hard to watch. This coming from a guy that played baseball from the ages of 4 to 18.

What does that have to do with athletes and sports?
