Watching this CFB preview on the Mothership. It's not because he's fat or anything, it's the fact that I can't understand a thing he's saying. Dude has a lisp and is speaking 100 mph. Seriously, how did this start? I remember hearing it was a running joke on Gameday with Herbie, but now they're running with it and making him some expert.

I just walked out of a room that had ESPN on, and I can say that I didn't have any trouble understanding him. I can't vouch for his newly-found expert status, though.

Who is the Bear? Meaning what is his claim to fame?

He's basically the stat guy for Gameday. Also gambling "expert" I guess you can call it

He's basically ESPN's forced version of Sam "Ace" Rothstein from Casino

He's really good on the behind the bets podcast.

Never really seen him on TV. Try not to watch much ESPN.

ESPN puts people on the air who aren't that knowledgeable about sports so they talk about pop culture instead, people bitch

ESPN puts people on the air who know their shite and actually analyze the games, people bitch

Are you frickers ever happy?

This guy being pushed on Gameday every weekend shows ESPNs desperation. Terrible segments.

ESPN thinks they are incredible at being clever and creating "characters" when in reality they just annoy the shite out of people.

Couldn't agree more. Seems like it's all about putting the clever little thumbnail in the "coming up" section.
