I was trying to figure that out also.

Tomorrow is huge, we win that game we win the series. Kobe will show up obviously but if people want to say game 1 was a wake up call then they are just making excuses. Kobe does not need any reason to get fired up for any games in the playoffs. He came out last night trying to play agressive and just ran into some good D by Shane and Ron. I was really impressed with the shots we made Kobe take last night. Need more of that D in game 2

the lakers aren't as good when kobe tries to do too much and forgets his teammates. if we win tomorrow, we win the series imo.

Exactly. The Rockets have to force him to beat them.

1993. LA won games 1&2, and then Phx won the next three en route to a Finals appearance vs. the Bulls.

I actually see the misunderstanding. I said that the Lakers beat the Suns in the first round. What I means was that the Lakers beat the Suns in games 1&2 in the first round; they read it as "The Lakers beat the Suns to win a first-round series."

thanks for clearing that up, adam. i get your point, but this rockets team is far and away better than that 8th seeded lakers team. the rockets are the 2nd or third best team in the west depending on who you talk to.

soph, that may be pwning on the meeting of the minds board, but not the msb, son.

Everyone forgets the rockets were one bad quarter away from being a two seed. With that in mind, there are two superstars in the playoffs and thats what the media is gonna drive home.

Rockets played a solid game like I thought they would, Artest dunkin on Gasol and what's his name-plasic man showed what Houston was missin last year, that toughness, but what did you expect from ESPN, their biased towards certain teams in certain sports.

Yeah, it's funny how those top seeds and defending champions happen to get more airtime than 5-seeds.

Ok, I gotta call bullshite on that one. I've come to except ESPN's bias. They are a private company that can air whatever they want, but their darling teams are NOT decided on winning.

USC
Lakers
Celtics
Red Sox
Yankees

They have always been the favorite teams, and there have been a total of 4 titles from the darlings over the past 5+ years. The bias is based on potential viewers, not championship prowess.
