I did this. I use my parent's login, I give them access to my Hulu & Netflix passwords...

ESPN used to be every guy's go to "background noise" channel, b/c they showed sports highlights almost all day.

Now if it's not live sports, I'm not leaving it on to hear whatever PC Bro is offended about today.

Now we can just put on NBA TV, golf channel, nhl tv, SPEED channel etc for when we need background noise.

The specialized channels are pretty good. No political shite. Just the sport you want.

Twitter killed ESPN and forced them to switch their programming. ESPN doesn't break stories anymore and tries to create it. ESPN tries to create their own content with creating their own personalities. One day watch ESPN and watch all of their shows. Every show is an instant reaction with each one trying to give the hottest take.

We got ESPN when I was in grade school and ESPN wasn't yet on 24 hours a day. I've seen it grow during my lifetime and I think it peaked about ten years ago. ESPN in the beginning hardly showed live events and the sports were men's fast-pitch softball, PKA full contact karate, sprint car racing, reruns of Home run derby, Australian rules football, boxing, tape delayed college football games, and was just starting college basketball live.

I actually wish they'd go back to some of those sports during the days. I can't really take the hour after hour of sportscaster and those talk shows. Keep live sports at night but during the day show us sporting events. With the time difference you can show us some live sports from Europe or Asia or more non big four (baseball, football, basketball, and hockey) during the day even if of on tape.

Fox Sports Radio is miles and miles ahead of ESPN Radio. JT The Brick smashes all the clowns on ESPN Radio.

ESPN and Sportscenter used to be must see TV for me. Now all I care about are the live games and the 30 For 30 shows.

Yeah, ESPN is trying to become a daily soap now. No one gives a frick if Westbrook and Durant are friends anymore. So what is Westbrook isn't starting the All Star Game. It's nothing more than a glorified exibition game that means nothing.

I'm employed by ESPN/Disney but I actually find myself watching ESPN less and less if it's not a live event. I certainly don't watch their daily programming because I'm not one to get worked up listening to people scream their opinions on air. I'll watch SportsCenter every now and then. But even that isn't on the same level as years before.

Like others have said, I don't think they are in any real decline due to the sheer volume of broadcast rights they have. Their recent NBA contract, Monday Night football, MLB Sunday Night Baseball, and they've pretty much cornered the entire market when it comes to college sports (Most notably college football). So if you want to watch your favorite college team, there is a pretty good chance you'll need to tune into ESPN in some capacity.

If you lean more towards pro sports then you definitely have more options available.

They insert too much political crap into commentary.

And by too much, I mean any. I love politics but I don't want my sports channel to be pushing that crap.

It isn't The Capitol Gang, it fricking Sportscenter.

I've gone from watching multiple times a day to watching only a few games during football season. Cut the cord. Used Sling last year and PSVUE this year.

For the most part, I'm done with them.

Also can't stand NFL pregame anymore. Used to be great with 3 guys talking football. Now with 13 idiots and their 10 second soundbites meshed with some failed sitcom sadsack, pregame makes me want to puke.

It's like a train wreck everyone can see in advance, all except the conductor speeding up the train into oblivion.

I've been curious about Sling TV and PS Vue. How happy are you with them? I was reading reviews about Sling TV, but a lot of reviews said there were way too many ads.

Yes, today's NFL pregame shows are non watchable. Each show lasts 2-3 hours now and has too many analysts that regurgitate that same old repetitive crap, and more "insiders" that churn up rumor after rumor. Can't stand the lame comedians that are never funny with their idiotic takes and picks. Go back and watch FOX's pregame shows from the '90s. They were so much better.

Remember the score updates at 28 and 58 minutes on the hour? I remember dropping whatever I was doing, and hurrying to change the channel to ESPN so I wouldn't miss all the scores. Did anyone ever call the the pay hotline to get their scores?

Sling wasn't great for me in 2015. It got the job done, which was to watch LSU games without cable.

I mostly used WatchESPN which I could log onto with my sling info.

Sling was a bit choppy and would sometimes hang up on commercial breaks. As to the commercials. They don't insert extra ads. They use the same allotted time as cable would use.

PSVUE far exceeds Sling in picture quality. Or I should say 2016 PSVue exceeds 2015 Sling. I have no clue if they upgraded their system in 2016.

Both have cumbersome pain in the arse interfaces.

Can't complain too much getting expanded cable for $35. Far cheaper than Cox Cable.

Do you still have PS Vue? I get free cable in my apartment, but someday might have to make a switch when I move out. I use to have Cox cable. I didn't like them much. How much was the Sling box?
