Yeah Bowie got screwed. That journalist should not have a career. My favorite mobster was the guy that was the only one to win money on the Holy Cross game. He was funny.

Minnesota GM before trade: "Teehee. I am getting a super running back for five guys we don't need and a pick. But garbage Dallas needs the players desperately so who cares about the extra high conditional picks. They'll never cut them."
Jimmy schooled that dude so bad. I wonder if there were any "unwritten rules" that were violated. The way Jimmy tells it, he never had any intention of keeping any of the players.

That was fascinating. I wish we could know more about how they attached those picks to the players. How good was the guy that had a 1st round pick attached? How did the Minnesota GM not realize what was going to happen?

Unasked so far is why didn't anyone go to law enforcement Whitey Bulger had a mole in the Boston FBI office at the time, so that course of action may not have ended well, either. Whitey wasn't involved in this racket, so far as anyone knows, but surely he knew the guys who were.

That editors excuse was crap too "well when doing these types of stories sometimes you get the names wrong" like oh well cost of doing business. You royally fricked over Bowie and it apparently took him years to even get a retraction. Does snyone know if he sued?

NFL network is running a series of segments about the great trade robbery to commemorate the 25th anniversary. They had a segment tonight on their 7 pm EST show. I think the trade date was Oct 12. Seems like Jimmy just came in with a think outside the box attitude and tactic. That vikings GM had absolutely no idea that Jimmy was going to cut those players after he got them to agree to the condition picks. It really was fascinating.

For some reason I didn't like this one. It was OK but not towards the Top for best 30 for 30's.

Henry Hill was in jail in LA county on a probation/ parole hold back in the 90's after he left witness protection. I sat and interviewed him for hours. Lots of cool stories about his time and association with the mob. Not sure how much was BS but one thing for sure was "Jimmy" was a bad dude. Had everyone scared.
