This one is easy. Go ask any fan in the '80s and '90s and they'll all tell you it's easily Larry Bird. He talked more trash than anybody and then backed it up. Most respected white basketball player of all time by his peers. He may have been a country hick from Indiana but he had swag before swag was a word. His is the template and everyone else is emulating him. Will never forget him going into the locker room at the 3 point contest and asking the other participants who was going to come in 2nd. Promptly went out and smoked everybody with the raised finger as the last shot was in the air. That's the definition of swag
I also thought of Pistol Pete but he didn't really talk much or talk about how gifted he was. He was definitely confident but is much more an inner confidence. He was a self described loner and that just doesn't qualify for having swag.
