Browns are in no position to groom anyone. They're going to be terrible. Probably have a top 2 pick again next year, they'll wait for a QB there

i don't think you know what that word means

I do. Bad teams force raw rookies into action before they are ready. That's not grooming.

Browns take BPA at #8 and then draft a QB at #32 and not pay 1st round money. Kinda like what the Jets did with Geno Smith

Could be the case if they like someone like Hackenberg.

Not really. Many organizations don't want or need a lot of draft picks or young players and want to dump the picks anyway.

I was just going to say that. Hackenberg would be such a Cleveland pick.

They already have the QB of the future. Connor "Sober Football" Shaw

Cleveland and Tennessee just walked away like bandits...

You'd almost swear they had competent people running the organizations.

They have RGIII to play this year. I don't think he's in turn their future as well. He's a bandaid for a year or two.

Is this the first time in league history both top picks have been dealt?

RGIII will either be hurt or play bad enough that everyone will be clamoring for the rookie. It happens every time.

no one doesn't want 3rd round picks. those are actual NFL players.

quote:

In the 1979 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Montana at the end of the third round with the 82nd overall pick. Montana was the fourth quarterback taken, behind Thompson, Phil Simms, and Steve Fuller, all selected in the first round.

Eagles are not one of those teams.

That seems like a terrible trade for the Eagles. They must really believe in those 2 quarterbacks. LA's deal made more sense because they could market the new QB in a big market and get some buzz. That is a lot to give up for just a few spots.
