Like someone mentioned earlier in this thread, I think this has more to do with PSU being able to get him off the field and still pay his salary, than being concerned with his safety.
For whatever reason, appears that PSU is afraid to "suspend" him. Could be many reasons why, but I guess they're trying to make sure they navigate through this, and actually the death threats probably worked out perfectly for them.

I think it is quite possible that in the end, it is going to come out that McQueary had been a victim of Sandusky when he was a kid. I think that could well be the reason why they seem to be protecting him.
And even if that isn't the case, McQueary had been around there long enough (his whole life) to know that going to the cops wouldn't do anything.
And if you want proof of that, look at that sick bastards bail. It was set at 100k. I am not exaggerating at all when I say that I've seen people with felony DWIs in my area who have had higher bonds than that. And then, I discovered that it was an unsecured bond!!! He put up no money at all.
Think about it, Sandusky is out walking around State College right now. He is going to Dick's Sporting Goods decked out in PSU gear and generally being the POS he is. While his victims, are cowering in shame with their fricked up lives, and the one guy who ever said ANYTHING to ANYONE in authority is getting death threats.
