“Not To diminish anything Joe Montana did or Steve Young did in that system but that system you know John had- Elway had to do everything on his own. Right? Peyton kind of becomes the system when he comes in. With that west coast system, it really is designed for QBs to be successful. While those guys belong in the conversation, to me personally, it's a little more unique what Elway and Peyton have been able to do. Tom Brady is in a great system. He's been able to be in the same system for his whole career which is a great luxury. I want to go back and reiterate what I said earlier. Tom's legacy is more about leadership and desire and coaching his own players up even more than it is about what he's accomplished on the field.

I love how "system " qb is used as an insult . If a system is so unstoppable why don't all teams use it? The NFL is a copycat league and all the tape is out their so why don't the Browns use the pats system to get great qb play?

It is such a stupid term. Are you meaning to tell me the quarterback does his fricking job and wins rings? Lol what an untalented, lucky hack.

he isnt wrong. QB is a lot of a product of the system around them. unless you are the entire offense like Peyton was for so long then a lot of times the QB is gonna be the result of the coaching in place around him. Look at Matt Cassel in new England vs elsewhere. Matt Flynn once threw for 480 yards and 6 touchdowns in Green Bay, and he wasnt good enough to beat out a rookie Russel Wilson when he left

Sure but that doesn't mean that he is wrong

Manning/Brady is debatable

But Elway was a better QB than Montana
