Yeah you could also hire someone who has coached basketball before

I wonder if the Graham brothers are still plying their trade in a land far away

I heard an interview with Berry Tramel of the Daily Oklahoman on Monday and he called a Gottlieb hire "absurd, but possible".
Prayers sent, Pokes fans.

Except he never paid for it.
His father paid off the kid, school pretty much played it off, and he was able to go to Okie st with no punishment.
Daddy paid for his mistakes, dildo Doug still hasn't paid for it.

He's still mad about us whipping that arse in the Elite 8.

But what about all 38 of his radio show listeners. What will they do if he gets this job?

They could always hire the next Travis Ford. They're in a tough place. They don't want to hire the next stepping stone coach and can't get the big names.
The program has been in the dumps for awhile. Tier 2 program historically that has fallen off a cliff. Why not take a risk. Can't get much worse.
Not gonna compare him to Gundy, but they also took a massive risk with him, and it worked out pretty well.
John Smith and Mike Holder had never been a coach before taking over their programs. They combined to win 44 conference titles and 13 national titles.
Holliday had never been a HC before. Has already gone to the CWS.
I know. All are different sports.
All are alums. Eddie was an alum Stillwater is a tough place given it is isolated in North Central OK. a small town with a small fanbase. Gottlieb can sell that town and school to recruits better than anyone.
But can he coach? No one knows.

Doug Gottlieb please If Okie State was serious they would hire ole Big Country!
Saw Oklahoma State play LA Tech in Ruston with Reeves, Byron Houston and Sean Sutton on their team. They were #4 team in the nation at that time. Probably the most highest rated team to ever play in Ruston. Tech almost beat them. It was packed and a hell of a game. The best basketball game I ever saw in person at Tech while I was growing up. Tech had them on the ropes the whole game. Big Country was a Freshman and was so impressive. Everybody was talking about Byron Houston before the game but after the game everybody was like damn that big redheaded white boy they got is good!

maybe if you were some bottom of the barrell program I'd get this attitude....but frick seems awfully risky when it shouldn't have to be.

Can't think of a trashier combo than Gundy and Gottlieb
Posted on 3/22/17 at 7:21 pm to craigbiggio
Don't bring Gundy into this

He doesn't need to be much of a coach if he can recruit. But he'll need a great staff with a go-to X's and O's guy.
Problem with Gottlieb is that his ego is so big, he would want to do everything. And he would fail miserably.

Am I the only one looking forward to fan signs in hostile arenas?
'For on the court performance, OSU uses PEDs; for everything else, Gottleib uses my MasterCard'
'Center Court Tickets: $80. Team Jersey, $100. Doug Gottleib's Version of my Autograph: $5,500 in charges and counting'

Who had a better resume for the job applied for, Gottlieb or Johnny Jones, pre-LSU?
Posted on 3/23/17 at 2:06 am to rjokerlsu
really?
johnny jones made the tournament twice as a head coach before taking the LSU job. gottlieb has never coached a single micro second of basketball at any level, college, high school, the fricking local YMCA under 10 league, in his entire life
eta: actually thats not true. he was the assistant coach for the US team at the jewish olympics 9 years ago. so he has that going for him
etax2: oh, he also apparently was a player/assistant for golden west college and was a volunteer assistant at his high school

I've got a throbbing nine-inch OT monster dick at the thought of Gottlieb stalking the sidelines of the Big XII at a legit T40 program as HC.
Rock. Hard.

Damn I didn't know Underwood bailed on OSU. That sucks for OSU. I am very impressed with him.
