Who gets left out if PSU, Washington and Clemson all win this weekend?

If that happens this whole deal needs to get blown up. How does the champion of the toughest conference in football this year get left out of the playoff?

+1. I think the committee will want to avoid opening Pandora's box by putting in a non-conference champion over their conference champion who beat them in the regular season.

It gets a little bit less messy if Wisconsin wins because Ohio State beat Wisconsin.

I'd love for OSU to get left out, but I rather never ever see Penn St succeed at anything ever again.

It SHOULD be Ohio St. Win your conference, bottom line.

I think this is the result we will see, too. People will be outraged. And the committee will say exactly what they said before: Win your conference. It matters to them, a lot.

Winning a conference should not matter more than losing to an unranked team, getting blown out by 39, and not having as many quality wins as another team.

winning an archaic regionalized conference > losing two games (one by 39 points)

If Penn State is so bad why did OSU lose to them. That unranked team, also beat Clemson, who will likely win the ACC, and lost to Oklahoma state which is playing for the Big 12 championship this weekend.

So now are we of the mindset that out of conference games and strength of schedule are essentially irrelevant?

By this boards logic.. Shouldn't we just put Pittsburgh in the playoffs? If PSU and Clemson win out, Pitt will have beaten half the playoff field.

It's about strength of resume. Ohio State has better quality wins and losses. If all you care about is head to head then a Michigan team with the same record, head to head and a win over Colorado should sure as hell be ahead of Penn State.

There's this thing called out of conference games. The committee actually counts those things.

Absolutely. Didn't win the conference and lost to PSU.

They aren't bad. They're a good team. They do have two bad losses.

We should request a sticky to discuss the playoffs until they start. There must be 5 threads a day started about this topic or some variance of it.

Chicken, can a brother get a sticky?
