Does Ohio State get in if they used the top 4 from the BCS?

I'm thinking yes. The BCS had its flaws but it knew who the best teams were. The computers would have loved Ohio state because of their 3 big wins.

the real question is, does OSU get in if their name is Minnesota?
no, they do not.

I wonder if they consider this.

Yes because of the extra .01 they are awarded for name recognition.

The whole point of the BCS was to match up the two best teams in a bowl. The formula was established to determine those two teams, especially if multiple teams had identical records & similar resumes. What if there are 3 undefeated teams, or multiple one loss teams?
This year there is one undefeated team. Alabama would be in. Then there are 3 teams from P5 conferences with one loss. The BCS formula would be used to determine which of those 3 teams would get to play Alabama. Luckily, the 4 team playoff is in place & all 3 get a chance to win a NC.

If the BCS was this year man there may have been a shitstorm if OSU made it

I want OSU out as much as anyone, but they would have had such a distinct advantage in the BCS computers that they're in the top four regardless of what their name is.

So if they took the Power 5 conference champs plus three at large teams, 4 Big12 teams would have been in and none would have played each other in the 1st round (higher seeds host?). I good with it.
