All I have to say is SMU has one of the sweetest campuses in the nation.

I think the whole Arizona State fiasco is what led to this
He was angling for a bigger job and didn't get it. Now he doesn't care and has sour grapes.

I think when he gets fired he is going to use what few press connections he has left to shite on SMU. He'll blame their facilities, support, and whatever the hell else he can come up with so that he can still try and find one more paycheck to steal from a school who doesn't do their homework on him.
I'll just never be able to get over the fact that that lazy arse gets $2million a year to coach in a recruiting hotbed yet he doesn't get up off his butt to even visit local schools to attempt to recruit. It's insulting really.

The facilities now are 10 times better than what they were when he got there. They created a bowl for him. He has no room to complain. I thought he had burned all his bridges in Dallas, unless the Star-Telegram is his outlet now.

I can damn near guarantee that one of his complaints on the way out the door will be about the lack of an indoor practice facility. Of course, what he will leave out when complaining is that SMU actually had one lined up to be built but he balked at it being across the street where they are now building the indoor tennis courts.

I thought Ford Stadium got some add-ons for the bowl and that was part of the renovations on campus the students paid for.

What a shame. I'm actually good friends with his son. Really nice guy (goes to Arkansas actually). I've never talked football with him. just asked him what his dad thought about Bielema..."He's horrible." 
I was previously unaware as to why Coach Jones basically lives in a hotel these days. Now that I've read about his backdoor run to ASU, it makes a lot more sense.
Whoever takes the SMU job will have the keys to a big time sleeping giant. I've been to a lot of campuses for road trips during my time at LSU, and SMU probably has without question the nicest campus

He ought to be fired today. There is an article in scout today with interviews of some of the big high school coaches in the DFW area, who all claim that SMU doesn't even show up to recruit any of his players, while schools like TCU, texas tech, etc, are camped out at practice every day. If I were the SMU athletic director, had watched the first two games of the season, and read that article this morning, I would fire him on the spot.!!
