Does it seem like Stephen A. Smith has gotten more tolerable?

since he no longer has Skip Bayless on the show, he seems to where he's become more rational as compared to Max Kellerman

I've heard him on the radio before where he wasn't screaming/angry and he was actually a pretty sharp, thoughtful guy. Actually seems like a pretty nice dude.

I heard him randomly call into Mark Levin's political show one night while driving, he's a very reasonable and well prepared guy when he's not screaming.

The "Screaming A" thing is an act. He's a normal person.

Yes. He actually has pretty mainstream views. I listened to his XM show a couple of times. He was pretty hard on Josh Gordon and guys who got suspended for smoking weed. He seems much more grounded in reality than Skip.

Idk what it is, but I'd have to agree. I've nodded my head in agreement more often than not lately than more than ever

It's hard to question that guys knowledge, but it is really easy to question his delivery. You can't help but think he has nothing to offer when he gets to hooping and hollering about shite on TV

I didn't realize Max was the the way he is. I find him very predictable and boring also one of the most closed minded people I've ever heard.

Stephen A Smith was brought into First Take by Skip. At first, Skip was the headliner and Stephen A was supposed to be the opposite of Bayless. It was good for ratings to have Skip say his nonsense and watch Stephen A rant and rave. Once Stephen A. got his new and huge contract he was the headliner, so Skip found greener pastures. Now, Stephen A. can concentrate on being his natural self. He seems more comfortable and to be maturing.

He's also acting to an extent. I listened to him extensively when he was on radio with Marcellus Wiley in LA. He's actually one of the most open-minded people in sports, at least in my opinion.

On First Take, he's forced to take opposing positions that he may not even believe, that's just the format of the show. On the radio, he would preface his devil's advocate takes by saying he doesn't necessarily agree with the point he's about to make. He's too good at what he does for the FT show format.

I don't know why First Take producers are convinced that two people can't have compelling discourse about topics without having diametrically opposed views.

Only gratifying segments of that show are when Will Cain drops in and destroys both Maxie and Stevie....surprised Fox News hasn't made him an offer yet

Alternate proposal, everything else has gotten so much worse that he looks better by comparison.
